Reducing distance costs by 50

Greetings Commanders,

- Reduced module and ship transfer distance costs by 50% (Cross platform)

You are encouraging taxis as the default transport mode now. Ergo encouraging people to sit around waiting for their ships, until they're bored and complain that ED = a waiting game.

You are setting up ED for bad reviews going forward. And this direction of change is difficult to roll back, and will lead to increasing cries to make ship transfer times shorter and shorter, until they're irrelevant. Then the 30/70 ratio is going to increase to 50/50 and there will be larger scale unrest. So you're painting yourselves into a corner where more and more players will become unhappy about a QoL enhancement.

Please think this through, and consider your next step very carefully.

I really do not see how this encourages taxi's regardless of price, bring one ship to do stuff while waiting? then you have both?

Still unable to make your mind FD ? Wanna make 100% of the player base dissatisfied by something 100% of the player base wanted before YOU made a mess of it ? Well, keep digging, you're getting there ...
Unbelievable.

And meanwhile, there's still nothing to do in this bloody game ! :D

What did I just read? It makes little sense to me. You'll be waiting - regardless whether you pay more or less.

The cheaper it is, the more people will use it, the more people will fly otherwise-useless fast taxis, and wait for their main ships rather than play the game... Then complaints about waiting will follow.

Its a domino effect. People look at the first domino fall like they won something, but don't think about that last domino.

Yes, I will be waiting, but I won't be waiting doing nothing. I will continue on doing what I was doing until my ship arrives. Oh, who am I kidding. I'm never going to use this regardless of the time or cost. I have yet to find myself in a situation where "I gotta have it NOW." If I miss an opportunity, no biggie. It's a big galaxy, and it's no going anywhere any time soon. Plenty more opportunities will arise.

It was a first adjustment, who's to say it was the last ?
And we don't know which direction the next adjustment is going to go.
Too early for panic buttons methinks.
What this does is to allow for many more players to try out the mechanic in a live environnment. Players who were barred from it because the cost was prohibitive to them.

The OP is just a slippery slope argument. In beta forums a LOT of us asked to reduce the cost/time involved as it was clearly much beyond what many of us expected when voting. Again, FD listened and made adjustment. Not everyone will be pleased, which is totally fine, and there is absolutely zero evidence that your slippery slope argument (if you do what the community wants them to do, then they'll keep doing it until its not a good idea).

I appreciate what you're saying cmdr, whether I agree or not is by the by

But aren't you the guy who is waiting for cargo on/off loading delays?

lol

We don't all want the same level of "immersion" here

Personally I felt the time wall is a little too long, especially when majority of the time you can fetch said modules or ships in half the amount of time spent waiting. So this feature will utterly be useless to me as I already use a taxi conda to get around and use my corvette with the increased FSD roll. Maybe I'll use it for modules, but thats probably just about it.

Odds are people will be flying a stripped down taxi that is good for 1 purpose: travel. So the amount of waiting around in the game will increase. It's an inevitable consequence of incentivizing fast travel, and the basis of the argument for making transfers instant. => Undermining the popular support for delays.

The developers have just saved you lots of money when using their QoL feature, and you're complaining? What the actual hell Ziljan? >_<

This is the poster child argument for greasing the slope, and evidence that the OP concern is valid.

What's making me laugh is seeing all the delay people being hypocrites.

They told us to accept FD's and the communities decision with transfer. Now that FD changed something, they are not accepting it.

What was that again? Something about salt and not accepting official decisions?

Well, I just hate the idea of ship transfers period, so yeah. Hell, if they were free and instant, but had a 500ly transfer limit, there'd be people moaning about it ruining their game because they couldn't teleport their battlevette to Colonia.
