2.2 is rather a disappointment

I think he's referring to how starting systems and the Founder's system can be UA bombed. And the C&P system is broken, which I think you've commented on before.

I see no problem with any station being UA bombed... even in a starter system, you begin with a ship that can easily travel to the system next door, where fitting is available.

As to C&P - you're quite right, I have commented on this many times... both from the perspective of a player-killer, and a bounty hunter. I would absolutely like crime to be more heavily damaging to your rep and bank account, and for players with bounties to face harsh consequences (from either the game, or other CMDRs) on an hourly basis. It's rather absurd that a player can fly around with a 6-figure bounty, with zero risk to their game.

The only punishment, at this point, is a fine of some sort. And people with tens of millions in the bank care nothing about the fine. Farm Sothis for an hour - no problem, that will pay off my fines and I'll even have cash left over for another A-spec module. ;)

Plus, the Anaconda pilots that think it's the best combat ship make for good entertainment.

Every time. ;)

I love how you are all so quick to talk about these "more profitable" things to do, bash my disappointment for the patch, but none of you are willing to extend a hand and offer any real solution. One of the most hostile, immature communities for any game i play.

Rank up with the factions in fringe systems, especially those that are in a Boom state. They will give you silly missions, such as deliver 180T Silver for 1.5M, 9LY trip... takes about 5 minutes. After that get yourself an Orca or Beluga Liner and do passenger missions from these systems you've ranked up in.

Should give you some good cash. Not silly such as Ceos/Sothis though.

Oh look at all the people who want everything given to them on a silver platter... work you lazy sods... work for your ships and credits....

Hauling medicins for outbreak systems can be profitabel. Rare Trade is giving good credits. Slaves give profits. Dealing with "seeking goods" flying traders earns lot of mertis. Bountyhunting in combination with powerplay boni gives good rewards...

here you go. earn your credits.

edit:

also dont forget stacking massacre mission in combat zones, shooting those skimmers missions, ... dozens and dozens ways of earning credits in this game...

The problem with that is that new players are not going to understand what happened. They've just done the tutorial and don't know that other player can affect their potentially solo game in such a manner. They just know that nothing works and are confused and frustrated.

That is not how new players should be made to feel without necessity. Not in te first hours of a game they are supposed to be enjoying and which already has a steep learning curve.

Most of the other people here said:
Those people need to git gud and learn to use out of game resources, rather than expecting the game to convey to them how to play like a bunch of babies who want things on a silver platter

..at least that's what it feels like.

Been on holiday, came back eagerly anticipating hype and positive vibe.

Left disappointed. Aww poor me :(

I'm liking the new mods in Fallout 4 though! 3.0 isn't too far off!

Gamers are a fickle bunch...take enough fun out of it that it starts to resemble a chore, and some of them have the audacity to start wanting to have fun again.

I know right? Shocking attitude isn't it? So selfish those pesky gamers are...and lazy!

LOL I'm with you, mate! I pop into Elite from time to time to see what's new, what's changed, if I like it, and then go play Fallout 4 instead.

Take enough challenge out of it so that it starts to resemble a toddler's toy and some of them have the audacity to start wanting to have fun again.

And what is end game in open world meta sandbox game then? Can you even define it? Huge awesome battles? It's not EvE. What's end game in GTAV?

Apparently you didn't read my post, where I addressed this by replacing the word "end game" with "meaningful content"...........

...try again.

You show me challenging and skill-based gameplay, and I'll show you a game that isn't Elite.

Not really...I like my games to be challenging and fun. Thing is, I don't like being told that I'm having fun wrong and when that fun never impacted anyone else game, I can't shake the feeling that others are dictating to me that my fun was wrong and their fun is better.

That means someone is being a hypocrite.
