Hi Folks,
Got a bit of question for you all to consider.
How much game play did we loose because 'xenohendge' was discovered?
I mean I am *seriously* impressed about the way that the new mystery was discovered, talk about out of the box thinking but consider this for a moment;-
1) If it wasn't for the trailer, we wouldn't even know that there were these 2001 like monoliths in the game (just like we never knew about the barnacles in 2.0) and people wouldn't have been looking. (Kind of using knowledge from breaking the fourth wall)
2) Frontier would have planned and plotted out circumstances and game play events, which would have eventually led people to the 'Xenohendge. All that work will be shelved and all that content will be lost.
I bet that some people at Frontier are feeling like a DM when the players find an exploit which ruins the game. (If you've ever played tabletop D&D, you'll know what I mean).
Maybe thinking of making this a discussion point on Lave Radio next week.
What do you folks think?
P.S. Still seriously impressed how it was found though.
