This morning I spent an hour or so in the COL 173 KYQ d5-47 system. Decided that 14 I & J looked reminiscent of the binary planet/moon system of the known ruins. Its a laborious task flying over the surface staring at the ground features. Covered the latitude -48° flying heading if 090° from -140° to -90° longitude. I think it was 14 I I was on. 14J is reasonably close and looks very similar to the moon that rises over the known ruins. Star placement and nebula look pretty much exactly spot on compared to the Elite Meet photo. (I wonder whether FD would actually sit back and knowingly let us waste our game time searching here if it wasn't home to another ancient ruin site?)

From other videos at elite meet and the new trailer it seems like the colour saturation is different to that in game, so go on the latest trailer when narrowing down the colour for moons of interest

Btw, not only the obekisks and panels are activated by user-proximity.
The artefacts are as well (at least the one i tested)
They either use the users energy field to power themselves or have a built in energysource.

There MUST be a relationship between the antennas, the items we pick up and the active stone.


It feels so obvious in the dark. They all start glowing at the same time as you get closer.

It can't be a coincidence.

I may have discovered something.

About 700m up from the site. I was listening to the sounds it makes when your near it. And from what i hear. there is some form of chittering, chirping, clicking whatever it sounds like to you.

*OT* someone else having sound problems since start of 2.2 ?
After update to 2.2 (and 2.2.01 too) my audio constantly overcuts, even if in "options - sound" I set all to 50% output only, and yes, trying to solve it by installing newest drivers for my NVidia 4200M. Funnily the Graphics output (e.g. FSD percentage bar powering up) influences the amount of overpower output to audio....

With "over 30 people" (as someone else posted) looking for the second site on moon 3A of Col 173 Sector KY-Q d5-47, at what point do we decide that the second site may not actually be there anymore?

Iirc, the "second" site was actually shown in an earlier clip than the trailer used to triangulate the first site. Maybe FD decided to move the site, possibly because Col 173 Sector KY-Q d5-47 was discovered before the release of 2.2.

Could it be those ground areas, they light up when a CMDR gets within 20m, perhaps they are linked to the obelisks too.

I am guessing you have tried this though.

They also light up to the presence of the ancient relics, but not other objects.

Seriously though, I really think there is something to the shifting patterns on the obelisk. It's the same pattern on every one sure, but it's three distinct patterns in a row. I think it's a strong possibility that what we are looking for is some kind of XYZ coordinate as a result.
