Alien archeology and other mysteries: Thread 9 - The Canonn

Hello,
I've tried some analysis of the sequence.

We know it's a repeating loop.
My hypothesis was it is a sequence of N transitions, between N states.
Following this we should end with N states only.

To investigate this, I've noted each change in triangles during all the sequence.

I use the following numerotation system:

isn't there three states for the triangles? off / blue / white?
That would make sense for this civilisation to code their numbers in base three (0, 1, 2 for each digit).

Flew 5 hours over 15G today and haven't found anything. It's very frustrating but I will keep going. It kinda makes sense that we haven't found something on it yet.. the planet has an area of approximately 16.131.311.72 km² if I remember the formula for the surface area of a sphere right. :D

We will find them!

Well, while a lot of people are suggesting this is a landing pad, I've only seen a few suggesting that it's actually a launch pad. There are certain structures (I'm too lazy to find screen shots) that look like clamps, similar to the ones used to hold down rockets and build up thrust when launching rockets from Earth. I think it's very possible that the collapsed walls, barriers lying flat, and seemingly unnatural hilly mounds of dirt surrounding the entire site are the result of flying debris during the launch of a massive ship. All these theories don't do as much as solving codes and riddles would, but I just wanted to throw this out there because I haven't seen many people do it so far

I'm not sold with the landing or launch pad theory, the planet is a very low gravity one, I'm no rocket scientist or mathematician so please do correct me if I'm wrong, but i don't think you'd need clamps similar to those we use on earth to launch a large space ship, it is only a 0.136G world with no atmosphere to cause friction upon launch, so I'm not sure there would be need for clamps?

All of these discarded. A meteor impact would have left a way larger crater, also some marks, not just collapsing the wall down. Stellar winds are radiation, able to affect molecules and life, but no inorganic structures. That moon is too small to have plates (also some vulcanism is possible). Due to the lack of atmosphere, any winds / storms are also discarded.

I know what you are thinking, and yes I am thinking the same thing too. Didn't want to say it out loud though.

3165 It is discovered that the alien races once indigenous to the Far Colonies region of space have gone. Those worlds that had human colony areas become human worlds as the colonies spread out. Those that did not now stand abandoned. It is surmised that they departed for Galaxy 2, somehow managing to find a method of travelling there. Humanity stands alone once more. [10.3]

So there were indigenous alien races that abandoned sites? Could this have been one of those? What is Galaxy 2? I do not know if this site was part of the "Far Colonies Region" of space. Interesting but....probably not relevant.

I have a feeling that this obelisks site is a kind of galactic slingshot machine. It seems that the whole hexagonal frame is being held or clamped down. In working position or.. when the right lever is being pulled, the clamps will open and release the hexagonal frame in a kind of spring mechanism. Then there are two circular podests, the lager one on the ground, where a vessel can wait for its dimensional launch up through the aiming ring that is up above.
What if we just find the right spots to insert (or stand upright) a couple of ancient relics/"power cores"?
At the smaller circular place there I see two little square plates on the floor. has anyone tried to drop two of the relics right there? I am a bit clumsy, but more talented SRVers could do it.

Massive debris field, loads of hydrogen fuel and misc illegal salvage and 5 rescue ships in USS in Asterope. Nothing to be found though

I'm next door in Pleione. Similar situation with a Capital ship, a few convoy beacons and rescue ships with buckets of cargo and scrap.

*Edit* The Convoy beacons are around Pleione 11A with military ships heading to the planet.

I was moving above the site in my Asp looking for different points of view and out of laziness decided to leave my landing gear down. It's interesting to see what the central disk area looks like on the landing scanner when you do this - the ground scanner almost acts like lidar and removes a lot of the ground clutter to reveal the main structural form. Here's some examples of what I saw when doing this:

Some of the shapes are not that clear if you just look at the actual ground beneath you...

Wait... there was a wormhole, that connected our galaxy with 7 others? And... it is in current canon..?

I trying to solve The Jupiter's Beacon Mystery, but stuck. Lave and Eravates transmissions is nonogram. Unfortunately, this transmissions have many errors.

THAT'S PRETTY AWESOME CMDR!

It's a system map, and according to one of the transmissions, 4C could be the place.

On a second note... what the hell is a nonogram?!?!?! My God... you damn geniuses around here... I hate you... :D

Going on the front page...

Sounds like a callback to the original 1984 Elite, where you could purchase a galactic hyperdrive and warp to the next galaxy when/if you got bored with the first one. There were a total of eight galaxies, though in most versions of '84 Elite the only differences between them were the names and layouts of systems—there were no secrets to be discovered or anything. However, the 6502 versions had some actual secret missions that could be triggered in the second or third galaxies. (I think the Archimedes version also had more stuff like that, too).

It looks like the sand brought by the wind. But there is no atmosphere and probably it was not. Designer Error?

Oh wow, that sound cool. And... would be fun to see some day in the game.

Maybe we should have some kind of... list, of possible ways to derypt things the devs are using? And list those, that they havent used yet? xd

I agree, it really does.

How do you get that 4C is important from that?

4C is the Clue, found in Jupiter's message. Check the FrontPage for details.
However, the real question is: How can we find the depicted system among 400 billions? We still need some other clue to figure out...

I SUGGEST CHECKING SYSTEMS IN THE JUNCTION LINES OF LAVE, SOL, AND ERAVATE...

Looks like lava or water but with no atmosphere or volcanic activity?

Did you notice the huge triangle, the tip of which ends on the tip of the pyramid you pointed out? Looks like there was an original circle with triangles going out to the directions like a compass.

Enough speculation by me *smacks head*
