I remember one of the first photos I saw soon after Xdeath found the site was of the planet and moon in eclipse.
Is the site under a slow eclipse? Or is it all a dream?

I can't get the Japan 5.3 standalone nono-solver to work. Could someone find out number of possible solves for the lower left portion, when both asteroid belts = < please.
Entering some findings into the science ether. Noticing that the "servers" were all potentially arrows, I set about seeing if they pointed anywhere. This was done with friends and a laser pointer (SLF with fixed beams). They are as accurate as is reasonable but I'm sure if its meaningful, someone can math out the coords and the bearing to get much more accurate. Sadly no discernible pattern, however it occurred much more frequently than random chance might have predicted.http://i.imgur.com/kUIxSOv.jpg
It's not Colonia:
Yeah i think there is nothing that the relic site does. I think its just "there" you know? probably some fluff that was added for explorers. we had tried alot of things. not sure what else were supposed to do.
The Newgrange site in Ireland is just "there" until dawn on the winter solstice, when light floods the main chamber through a tiny slit.
Did you see my previous posts about shooting pillars off the towers?
Because all (current) landable worlds generally extremely inhospitable to any form of known life, by either have virtually no atmosphere or insane temperatures. Why are we excited about finding the fungal life? We know that there is non terran life in the galaxy, and it's not very hard to find. Every earthlike, water world, and ammonia world represents a discovery of alien life, plus we can find gas giants with either water or ammonia-based life. Is it actually that surprising that we've found fungus on a landable world?
Any life form capable of living in these conditions are bound to cause advancements in various sciences. Just look at the barnacles as an example: stronger alloys with potential military applications, potential advancement with the meta-drive, and a cure to the technoplague.
Gah I'm pages behind, just caught up... Suggesting Vulpecula, it was suggested hours ago!!!!
It does match on the number of 2 letters if the A column starts at the first "1" column.
But yes I err towards that being the B column (which produces 6 doubles).
There are two possibilities:
1. Site was found, but we cannot do anything until some progress/event happens elsewhere. We are only observers and data/items collectors right now.
2. We can actually solve this riddle by using what is available on the site (preferred option).
Now, I like the idea of the Indiana Jones/Tomb raider puzzle. The whole site reminds me of the old puzzle games, where you have to take some item, then place it on the proper place and some magic will happen. We have six items available there. Five of them needs energy, be it our SRV's or us, thus reacting to our presence near them. It seems, that the sixth has power of its own - the artefact.
Items
I wonder if something could happen, if you take the (need to be powered) item and place it somewhere on the patterns near the obelisks and power it by your presence. The are many gaps in the grid on the floor. Maybe part of the section will get powered too. This could require more commanders in coordinated effort, because I don't believe that it could stay powered without our presence.
The "clamps" in the wall, partially buried in the dirt and freely standing looks very the same like the powered down items. You can compare the textures in debug camera mode - the greenish tint on some parts. Thus I think, that they can by powered too, somehow. Grid, laser fence? The ancient tablet looks like it can fit into the depression on the top of the clamps (not tested).
Wild speculations alert: Could our technology/commodity like power generators or emergency power cells be able to power these items? Could the items respawn, after proper placement/usage? Like you will need more of them, thus to be able to solve the puzzle in solo mode?
Artefact/Monolith
Only item on the site which has power on its own. Proper placement on the site could trigger something. Artefact cannot power other items - tested. The green "spawning points" don't react to the artefact presence - tested. Obelisks which reacts to SRV/CMDR presence don't react to the artefact - tested. Artefacts on the monoliths with shot down pillars in proper direction don't create beams/connections - tested. But they could do this if some unknown conditions are met. Definitely worth of some further testing. There could be some hidden purpose. Because why would you place such items on the monoliths in the first place? For immersion? (Nah). They could place only the artefact on the top, and done. Shot down pillars cannot be picked, only targeted. Monoliths have their own ambient music. Something like a faint voice could be heard when in debug camera mode near the top, with the artefact in place (alas I don't have sample of it).
Obelisk
Five data patterns (alpha to epsilon), each type randomly acquired after scanning. Not re-acquirable by re-scan of the same obelisk. Data patterns = commodity for engineers, other purpose unknown. Five data patterns vs five "powerable" items - coincidence? Other and more remarkable work has been done by other commanders on this forum regarding the obelisks and the patterns on them.
Please bear in mind, that my testing was done in solo mode. Further tests carried out in PG or in OPEN should be coordinated, thus to prevent mutual interference.

Never seen asteroid belts in the system like that.
A new hint would be appreciated!
At least to know if we are completely wrong...
There'll be no hints.
Michael
Sorry dude! Never saw your posts in this monster thread. Glad to know I was on the right track. That newgrange theory of the barnacles etc was orignaly posted by me...also if you look back i mentioned the sun hits that center key shaped line and each time it does my game crashes :-( i was trying to get others to try and repeat this but unfortunatly my 5 comments about it where overlooked. Maybe something happens, maybe not but the fact my game crashes each time (i only have 2gb vram) maybe something happens the sight at this time and my gpu just cant handle it
I believe in vertical. It could be a combination of horizontal and vertical, but my current and favored theory is that every column decodes to a char somehow. All columns together would make up the system name, possibly after further decoding. Note that vertical is what the Arecibo code was about. We have the same situation here, alien contact (to be decided still is who's contacting whom). [noob]
Maybe the same 3-bit binary we spent all our lives trying to decode on the UP signal
In seriousness though, I'd maybe guess that the strange 2x block could be a number larger than 7, and the other rows are numbers less than 7 (this is assuming >< asteroids)
I have found more antenna than these 4 ive seen 1 or two up the top left of this image also
We should make one big combined post with all the patterns we are working with so far. When we see all the things we got: triangle patterns, nonograms, map over the site etc etc ... someone will eventually lit a bulb.
