It's a mining settlement that has been shut down, the miners were left as they were "expendable". I think this has ties to sirius corp. There are 6 data scan places to scan to get the messages, they are numbered 1/6 2/6 ect to get the whole story.
there is an emergency message being transmitted every 5 mins so don't be alarmed if you hear a voice.

Ha! I'm parked up on the moon atm. Been criss-crossing it looking for anything but not come across any POI yet. Will have another look tonight.

this is all new we found the site im investigating with a srv
system is Hyades sector dr-v c2-23 5th planet from the main star. looking to head to lat 44.8 long -31.3. mining settlement named Dav's hope

would be interesting to hear from micheal brookes on this, the listening posts are sirius corp so it could be another clue in the wall of whatever is going on ( meta drive perhaps or missing)
Light seems to be a major component, but I'd be disappointed in Michael Brookes if this was all there was. I have a feeling it's going to get very mathematical, involving the obelisks and doing things in order and that's not one of my strengths unfortunately (I studied art).
The big guns with the big brains will need to take over for that one!

I've seen it in the beta, it's a new kind of settlement, Mos Eisley-Star Wars like. A new Western-like settlement. I love it.
There are few of them.

I am in open, just reading through to see if i've missed anything important in the data scans.
Something occurred to me whilst at the site: these earthworks show signs of what looks like heavy erosion. They are worn down and partially collapsed, and the lines on the ground look like the worn down remains of structures. Ditto, the obelisks are pitted and worn and some of them are broken or lying at odd angles.
Except this is an airless world. There shouldn't BE any erosion since there is no wind or water. Granted, exposure to space does have a slight weathering effect due to bombardment by micrometeorites and cosmic rays etc. but not like this. The site should be fairly pristine even after thousands of years. So what happened here?

So weve found another variant mrs millenux is this one mining team and cave ins
That said its a new find, theres obviouslly many of these mining sites out there, me and iamgingerbear have located a second one to the first one found in beta, but it doesnt look to be the ancient ruin type sites
That said ive found the original clue at a terraforming colony with small population ( the same with takurua and i think velli) so we perhaps should check outlying small pop terraforming colonies / systems for additional clues

Some of the ancient artifacts and all of the relics don't show up on the wavescanner.
Exactly 3 artifacts are not on the scanner: 2 x orbs and 1x cascet all three in the big circle structure.
(borrowed and updated map + screenies of the 3 artifacts)
- confirmation needed (tested 2 instances)
- ideas needed, why only these 3 artifacts and the relics?

Im moving on to continue my search of colony / terraforming systems around the outer rim to see if i can find any more clues and if my theory has any water
