Alien archeology and other mysteries: Thread 9 - The Canonn

I was just speaking to a couple of other commanders at the crash site.
1 of the T9s looks like it has been there a LOT longer than anything else at that sight. (and someone mentioned a beacon that can be scanned there, although I haven't found it yet)

I wonder if it crashed a long time ago, and both the alien ship and the convoy happened to respond the beacon (maybe a distress beacon) - That would at least explain the corroded SRV as well?

Man I wish I could actually connect to other people, even in Mobius I'm solo most of the time lol.

That being said: I was thinking the same thing. Go to the top of the hill and the wreckage up there looks WAY older than everything else.

The convoy flying relax. The REAL alien ship detects UAs on board. Launches them a single lobster. Downs the entire convoy in one single shot. The blue annie has a huge scar too.

Just caught up on the thread. Watched it all happen live in Discord. Good job everyone involved. Three alien ships down.

Now lets go find the live ones?

This one is wayyy too recent to be an old wreck of any kind. This happened in the last month max. So where do we think they could be? What's the relation with UA? They may not be the same species. The UA may just be at the site because the aliens were collecting them just like we do. For whatever reason. But with them there, it makes me think its at the least a clue from Fdev on where to look for these ships. Somewhere in the shell? Good enough place to start I'd say.

The answer to this is probably here some where but...

The UA's always point to Merope when outside the system right? What happens if you are in the Merope system? Does it point to a planet?

I can't test this atm so I'm asking if anyone has tried this?

In system, it points to the star.

No signs of impact around the human ships. They're just sort of buried. And They're all close together. Like this was a drug deal gone wrong or something.

So you're saying we've got a No Country for Old Spacemen type of situation here?

Better keep an eye out for this guy

I'm not one for multiplayer games, the interaction is a bit... dunno, not scary, but it gives me anxiety... anyway!

CMDR Nehi just remarked that it's strange all the crashes are so close together.
again more speculation - but i recall reading somewhere on here that UAs sort of scream and burst into dust or something when they explode?
I noticed that the Condas and T9s (that haddnt been there ages and corroded) were all relativly intact, where the alien ship isn't.

So... what if this give us insight into what happens when we 'kill them'? Maybe they release a massive EMP type burst that disables our ships like the other thing - except in an atmosphere, with no thrusters, obviously everyone crashed.

If we consider that there is a relation between the alien ships and the UA/UPs, then it's not strange at all. It would make sense that they one day appeared neared the UA/UP shells.
So, this is them coming to collect whatever information the UA/UP was gathering, and in the process they meet people. And with people being people, I would also adapt a shoot-first policy if I was an alien ;)

At the HIP 17403 crash site and my ship was scanned several times on nearing the crash site. I expected to find loads of UAs but haven't found any yet.

Edit: Never mind I found em. As my great grandma would have said "If it were a snake it'd have bit you."

You know I kinda thought about that: like they were meeting up to transfer a bunch of UA/UPs, then INARA showed up.

They weren't meeting. Look how they are placed. Who lands upside down against a hill?

A ship shot by human weapons explodes. The lobster crushes, stabs them and bears them down. It's a projectile.
That"s why they are together. IMHO.

At least it is consistent.
