That said, I'm still inclined to think it's not much for now: being an outcrop and behaving like it, could be a bug/glitch.

A good idea could be exploring Merope 5c a little more, to see if there's some other srange "THINGS"...

I don't remember when the outcrops were shown on the ship's map. No, it's something other (or they were?).

The guy reported a PoI but I didn't get one. Just a bare crater, and the rock.

If you shoot the rock then re-log, there's a noticable pause between the terrain loading and the 3 spikes appearing. Could have been unduly long for the original reporter b/c lag or load or similar?

I went to 5C 19.1659, -42.6245, found an outcrop, shot it, nothing out of the ordinary.

See this. This is at the location he was - there's nothing special about this. It's something that happens and probably coupled with his low graphics settings.

I got that at Dav's Hope a few days ago, but I'm only Expert rated in combat. Sounds like it might be a general bug with that new surface colony instance in general then.

While we are discussing "persistent outcrops", let's not forget that Merope 5c was always strange.

Cap. Ship alarm on the whole planet instead of a small region.

Players communication work all around the planet, instead of the set range.

Gotta say I agree with Walaykin. "Fake" gives the impression of intended dishonesty, which I don't think is the case here.

Without wanting to offend, you are a little brash with your words. Maybe a little more courtesy to fellow commanders would help avoid these little misunderstandings. o7
