His coordinates were 33.47 / - 02.17 though. Perhaps just a typo on your part?

Hmm maybe your right about the typo at least, and maybe the co-ords too
The co-ords i have on my post it note are 33.47 / -02,17

Though maybe the small mining post, was -33.47 / -02,17 ?

Would have to go back to be sure.

Jeez....

you mean like this just sideways?:

For all we know these obelisks hold data.
It could be a library, or an arch, containing their DNA sequence.
It's 4 symbols isn't it?
Adenine, Guanine, Thymine, Cytosine... :O
Ok, I'm deffo out of this one :D

Do you know which of the obelisks the sound came from? Ancient Biological data perhaps?

ive picked up 10 ai relics in threat 3 decoded emission signal sources today, has anyone taken AI relics to the crash site yet and interacted with UPs/UAs/Obseliks ?

I have taken all the bits from each site with the acceptation of a UP both to the ruins and to the crash sites. So far none of them have had any effects. All of the Ruin artifacts, urns etc... just sit there and dont do anything. The UA when I try it at the ruins themselves just puts out its normal weird sparklies. I tried the UA at all the major landmarks in the Ruin and nothing still.

I dont think they have anything to do with each other.

No I didn't check it, I thought of it but ED crashed in the meantime. :(

In my notes it is 33.47 -2.17

If you find anything around the camp, it is usually random.
If you belive, it isn't random, log out/in and check, if it disappears.

Edit: I was not able to find any persistant POI in the area around the Research Facility 5592

so the first CG to gather this data may lead to our first clue with galnet information forthcoming, 4 follow up CGs and all 5 lots of ancient data are figured out and decoded...... Then we wait on what is out there

I`m at 33.47 -2.17 right now.. all I see is dust.. no mining post no nothing :(
Strike that.. it`s here.. was off by a few meters.. really difficult to see (when you are not looking at the right stuff)...

The Obelisks give the patterns randomly. Which means every Obelisk can have every pattern.
But: Does the pattern, that is currently (in the moment of being logged in the game) "active", give out a different sound? Do all these patterns have distinctive sounds? Not that the patterns change with every logout and login.

Cookie, it is even on the front page ;)

That is what I'm testing right now...30 mins and still recording.
I hope ED does not crash again.
I want at least 1 hour to see if the signal repeats

In Solo? I'm on the site at this moment too. Shall we wing up?

yes in solo for two reasons:
1. last time i was in mobius, crashed after 23 mins
2. don't wanted other sounds like SRVs or arriving ships on the record.

would love to wing up, but dont want to risk another hour

Most understandable :)
Btw, I assume you're German as well? Given the Audacity pics haha

back again at the ruins, again no commanders right now (I'm in Open, CMDR wobblytickle) but at least it's daytime. Nevertheless I do find the ruins eerie

Dear fellow commanders, I'd like to share my thoughts about the ruins with you. I haven't been following the whole thread,
so please forgive me if I bore you with something that has already been discussed (and maybe dismissed as useless).

What if those ruins are meant to be read as a fingerpost? I was initially thinking of them as a map, and probably they are both,
a map AND a fingerpost. Anyways, if I look at this long, fingerlike structure in the center, 'south' of the 'landing pad', I can't help
but think that the creators of this site wanted to point somewhere in a very direct and uncomplicated manner
(no numbers involved, no points of reference to be assumed etc.).

So if you stand in the center of the big circular structure, the landing pad, and look along the 'finger' you can aim at whatever
star the finger points at. The problem is of course, that the planet is moving. This is the point where time comes into play.
You have to wait for just the right moment to take aim. Everything clear so far? Just interrupt me if I am talking garbage.
The question is, WHEN do we have to look? One possibility is to wait until the system's main star has reached a special position
above the ruins. For example you could wait until it stands right above the small circular structure. I've done this and made a
screenshot for your convenience:

F8EtT

So what do you think? I know it's maybe too simple, even more so if you compare it with some of the very elaborate map
theories here in this thread.

Just in case anybody wonders what the name of the targeted system in my screenshoot is:
SYNUEFE DT-F D12-100
