What other games do you recommend?

Well, I'm really looking forward to get my Rift Touch controllers, and hope Tilt Brush will work out of the box. It's one of the titles that look really nice. But also I fear that I loose my wife and my vr goggles at the same time. ;)
My wife got Kittypocolypse and I lost my Vive and her for almost a week until she had her fill.

For me its only Elite really!

Tried a ton of other games but I just spend all my gaming time in open in VR, up to 14 hours a day! Which unfortunately is rare but if I have time I spend it in Elite... all other games just don't grab me, while Elite
is my childhood dream come true!!

That's why I opened this thread. VR got a bit one-sided for me and I wanted to hear about the alternatives. And after having spent several Euros on shallow tech demos like "Time Machine VR", which was a cheek rip off, I wanted to hear ED gamer experiences.

By the way, I just tried Project Cars with a steering wheel and pedals. I never was a fan of racing games, but with vr you feel the speed and the drifting, and it's a lot of fun. But I don't plan to buy it as I borrowed the wheel for several weeks, and I think I'll have enough then.

Quell 4D is an eminently playable and comfy Doom style FPS, if you're as sick to death of the Vive's monthly overpriced shooting range release as I am.

Honestly though 95% of my Vive time is in Elite.

Dirt Rally has been my favorite VR game so far.

But Eagle Flight is a fun little game. I just wish it was easier to find mulitplayer matches.
I thing the stylized graphics are perfect for Eagle flight. It is beautiful (also regarding different weather and times of day) and still looks realistic enough. When you get close to the buildings you usually don't have time to marvel at details anyways, the game is really fast paced and demands quick reaction. Even a slight bit of judder would be fatal.

Other games I can recommend (with Rift):
Edge of Nowhere
Chronos
BlazeRush
The Assembly

I also had a lot of fun with The Climb. It really made me stretch and jump a lot in order to reach some difficult grips. It'll be interesting to see how it will profit from Touch once it's out.

Not so much of a game, more a VR documentation: Apollo 11. If you care about the moon landing and space flight in general (as most Elite players do I assume) it's an absolute must!

Unsupported.

Hehe. What' the correct english grammar and time form for something that was supposed to have happened already, has been declared to be worked out soon and then was postponed to no particular time in future? Let me try: VR in sc had been working to be should do once in a time when it's done?

Refactored.

I've read plenty of reviews on Edge of Nowhere and Chronos. While Chronos seems to be a well rated title, many say Edge of Nowhere looks great but is shallow. What's your opinion, especially when you look at the price tags?

Starseed for the Vive is amazing. Just a wonderful gaming experience that I'll always remember I think.
Also playing Raw Data means I don't have to go on my nightly runs as much....

Hope they're gonna make the transition to Oculus when the Touch controllers get shipped.

Other games I'm playing via the Vive are:

Project Cars (works well with higher settings when Allow interleaved reprojection is unticked)
EVE: Valkyrie (just got this today for the Vive. Once I got past the stupid Xbox controller only stuff at the start and configured my Hotas stick, thruster and yaw pedals, I have found it to be a good game)
Euro Truck Simulator 2
Dirt Rally (Revive Patch)

Well, Chronos is definitely much longer and more challenging (even frustratingly hard at times for my taste).
Edge of Nowhere shines in regard to looks, atmosphere and story. It's completely linear and will give you around 3h-4h gameplay (as I recall, played it quite some months ago) with little replay value. The challenge is to find out the behaviour and weaknesses of various types of monsters and how to get past them with very limited resources. I liked it but I'm the type of gamer who values a nice story and atmosphere over super complex and challenging game mechanics.
Regarding price: Well, so far it seems you simply have to be prepared to pay more for VR titles than for comparable flat screen games. I didn't regret buying any of the mentioned games (otherwise I wouldn't have recommended them).

Warthunder in VR works great right off the bat. I would say even better performance in VR than ED for me.
If you love flying and shooting you'll love it. Though I would recommend playing in sim battles for 2 reasons. 1-in arcade battles you will be at disadvantage since most other players are playing non-vr and can see you from much further distance since they are in higher res. 2-sense of flight and immersion and realism can only properly be realized in sim battles(So you need to learn how to fly properly)

I'm currently playing Assetto Corsa, DCS world, Pcars and Dirt Rally. AC is the best of the driving bunch imo, driving the nurburgring touristfahren online in VR is awesome. DCS world is also great, , takes a lot of fettling to get it running nicely though.

Star Citizen with VorpX? Was it useable, in terms of using menus, etc.? There are games like the free "DCS" where VR works out of the box, but controls are simply not designed for vr.

Hahaha... just REPed you simply for +1 for your profile pic.

How is Dirt Rallye compared to Assetto?

I think I made a mistake by buying Project Cars and not Dirt Rallye. Me and my brother have always been Rallye fans on PC. I think I should have gone for Dirt Rallye. I bought Project Cars more than a month ago but only played it 5 or 6 times for a couple of minutes.

Dirt Rally is great, I can only play it for short periods though, it's pretty intense, and can be prone to bouts of VR sickness for me, I've ironed that out in AC. It's not as good looking as AC is in VR imo, but great fun, and makes the stages quite terrifying at times.

Most of the good sims already mentioned. A few lesser known games:

1. Sublevel Zero (procedurally generated, retro graphics, permadeath Descent game).
2. VR Battletanks (the original green vector Battlezone) -FREE
3. House of the Dying Sun -heard good things, space pew-pew.

BlazeRush is the one game that I keep coming back to, since getting the Rift. It's just good arcade fun. Had a bunch of 8 player multi last night, with the integrated voice now its awesome. You can egg others on and comment on the crazy plays that happen.

Elite, some Elite and a bit of Elite.

ViveCraft is also really great and immersive - you'd think the blocky graphics would hinder that, but it is really a great game

Sometimes I don't want to really play but just fool around a bit, then I like the following games:
Elven Assassin, a bow shooting tower defense. good price/fun ratio
NVidia VR Funhouse, The Lab and Zombie Survival Training are nice, quick game, especially if you have people visiting and just testing the vive.
theBlu is nice and relaxing for times when I miss diving, Trials on Tatooine is a nice short tech demo that is free and lets you use a lightsaber
Also, GoogleEarth VR is a nice alternative.
