An investigation into Frontier's actions on Combat Logging

No, the ticketing is part of the investigation. That was during the investigation.

I'm talking about handing them the investigation. Let them respond. Depending on the response you can always post this thread. Maybe FD would want to investigate for themselves what the OP found.

See,FD only lied if they knew about this and knowingly told us otherwise. On the other hand they may have made a promise but due to practical reasons (man hours vs issues) can't put the capacity on the issue it needs. So by charging this as: FD lied, now they need to come out and prove they didn't or else, those avenues have become more distant.

I see what you're saying now, but speaking purely personally, my charity for this company ran out sometime around 2.1.

I was willing to overlook the offline play lie. (And that was, objectively, a lie. It was promised to backers, and then retracted.) It didn't impact me because I didn't kickstart the game, so perhaps that's why.

This little incident establishes a pattern, and that pattern points uncomfortably towards "FD doesn't give enough of a toss about their players to even be honest with them".

I don't want to think that, but what else am I supposed to think? Especially when solving the issue is as simple as an orange mea culpa?

What does that say to the likelihood of honoring other promises, like the one that an "archive" of the universe will be available of the game ever dies?

Much as y'all keep bleating on as if the company is going to collapse under a sudden new reputation for being horrible people I really can't see it happening - the group that cares about this so much is relatively small and they've made such arses of themselves (with much assistance) over the course of this thread I suspect it might be questioned if they'd be a loss if they did leave over this.

Everyone else will carry on as usual.

I guess its mountains and mole hills for some people. Seems like every other week an OP forecasts the end of the game and the demise of FD.

Why do we have to make our minds up in an instant? I simply don't know. There's too many unknowns for me at the moment, so I'm withholding judgment for now.

It could have been.

Just imagine being the subject of this thread. Now read through it again :)

Their ''reputation'' as a good customer service will take a real hit after this. They obviously don't care about combat loggers...well at least that's message they are sending and that's what will hurt them in the long run.

Who the hell will buy a game after they hear : ''they don't ban cheaters''.

+1

i would not have bought the game if i known better about cheating being 100% ok for the game...

Legit combat log, gg. [haha]

I did this 2 days ago.
And as long as rebuy costs are too high and mission payouts are too low it is absolutely legit IMO.

A year ago I could have a nice fight with my FDL vs an Anaconda and I had always the chance to jump away.
2 days ago I got interdicted by a client cutter and he had my shields down in about 10 seconds?
No chance of escaping so I did the 15seconds logout with 50% hull left...

I guess engineers is kind of a pay2win and the "balancing" in next beta is far from solving this.

Friendly reminder to all: Please avoid badgering/harassment/witch hunting/trolling.

Not surprisingly this thread is generating a lot of heat, but let's keep it civil. Thanks.

either way, whether or not they do a real investigation. Their ''reputation'' as a good customer service will take a real hit after this. I mean why do they bother to have a Terms of Service at the bottom of the website if not to enforce it's content and rules?

Will it really though? Frontier are consistently excellent with helping people who have lost progress or assets because of something unintentional. There are regularly posts where somebody describes Support helping them out where most game companies would return a pre-written response which could be summarised as "deal with it". Just last week more than a year and a half of exploration data was returned to a player who died to the bug with jumps dropping you into the tails of white dwarfs.

The only people who find Frontier's customer service lacking seem to be those who are filing tickets demanding that another player be penalised.

And you're the main propaganda person in the SDC? Wow!

Ignore user is my method of silencing that propaganda. Even I disagree with someone, if they make good arguments and have insightful things to say, I will read and continue to interact with them.

Arguments along the lines of "everybodies dumb hurr durr" then, Ignore.

Didn't we just have a thread about this? PvP-only issue really and therefore presumably of little interest to the majority user-base. Personally I don't care about combat logging so combat log as much as you want and as much as you want; I don't see it affecting other people's game and it doesn't seem to have any affect on mine.
