I don't think there will be winners or losers per say.
I think both will have there own outcomes irrespective of what happen in the other. EG if X amount is delivered for CoR then this happens. If it is Y then this happens. Separately, if X is delivered to the Feds, this happens, if it is Y then this. And they won't be mutually exclusive.

I hope that's how it pans out, though that would be an extremely complex set of scenarios for FDev to figure out.
I'll be happy if we even get a sliding scale of effect, based on the difference between the two CGs - anything but a binary win/lose.
It might be really simple. Something like: If the CoR CG hits Tier 1 or more X happens. If the Fed CG hits Tier 1 or more Z happens (given hitting Tier 1 normally deems a CG a success, even if it is a poor success).
In this scenario there would be four possible outcomes:
Outcome 1 - Nothing happens
Outcome 2 - X happens
Outcome 3 - Z happens
Outcome 4 - Both X and Z happen

Came back early and dumped my data. its put me in the top 10% and nudged the tier up to a hairs breadth off 3. Hopefully that should climb more as the CG gets closer to ending.
Also I have a load of large data caches, the bm is offering rubbish money for them but I take it they dont contribute do they? Probably going to look for a better price elsewhere.

How many systems got you into the top 10%, if you don't mind me asking?
My take on this is that there is no contradiction. At the time the old woman was talking to Salome people had gone across the Rift but, since thier minds were wiped, nobody had crossed the Rift and live to TELL THE TALE (sorry on mobile and italics are too much work, not yelling). The yelling the tale is the thing. Somebody was taking the time to erase people's memories of what lies beyond.
IIRC, the 'nobody has crossed it and lived' part was when she was in the hospital, telling 'ghost stories' to an impressionable young woman.
Whilst the 'plot your way across' was in the holovid and was part of detailed instructions on how to find the mystery.
That's two completely different contexts - one dramatic, one factual - which to me explains the change in the level of detail and accuracy.
Pretty much my purpose for this trip - checking the fringes, I may not even go to the beacons themselves, seeing as there are enough recordings and photos that I'll not gain anything from it anyways...

I suspect there will be a big jump in tiers in the last few days as people get back. I myself am timing my return for the last few hours of the CG.

yes once the CG is in, and FDev advance the storyline then things will bounce forward

That looks like one of the systems I went through. Couldn't help stopping to check out interesting looking moons.
if you hit a piece of ice with a hammer it (ice) does not turn into water.
If you apply a steady pressure to a piece of ice it will melt though. Try pushing a fork against a piece of ice, it will slowly penetrate.
I didn't do a proper count. I will log into EDd and check at some point. In total I earned 14 million. That wAs lower than it should have been as I honked and scooped the majority of the return journey for speed. I suspect players who have explored on both legs plus their EAFOTs data will have much more.
I'm going to quit now for a bit, but I'll keep an ear to the ground for news.
