So you want to know about the Formidine Rift? (Part 3)

I think a few small clues each week, and massive community goals that slow us down is the way they are moving forward now. But all it takes is one clue and one lightbulb and things blowing up will be the end result

Well I hope the clues stop being in the nature of 'go here and look for something'.
Wrapping them up in 'encryption' that would have been considered laughable 100 years ago doesn't make them more exciting, at least for me.

What Elite actually needs is a system that is developed to be in game, solvable with in game mechanics and wait for it.. not something which seems to exist on a fanbase forum. MB and his team of programmers need to be made redundant and make way for some people who actually know how to code. Because this forum wild good chase is exactly what it is. You put a sign saying "Wait here" in game at 12 different systems and the rest of the Game mechanics and problem solving happen on two threads in the dangerous forums. Not what id call good game development.

Interesting, how close doe sone need to be for these to pop up?

Less than 1000 Ls: not all of them are easy find in the landing point of a system, you need to reach bodies more than 1000Ls away to check an entire system. They can orbit suns, planets, and moons

Not sure if anyone's run across this yet, but Dr.Kaii ran across another beacon.

In the vid there's no system name, so it's not usefull to understand if that's one of the already found beacons or a new one.

No no no... I don't think coding/the coders is/are the issue - I think the problem is they seem to be using coders t technically, but really doesn't know all that much about a good user interface. I see it every day in my own work, you really need to use the right people for the right job...

Z...

Yep. And this is the first game I need to consult 5 threads, use 3 third-party apps, watch dozens of youtubes and so on ..to have a little fun every day and something a bit exciting two times a year. I spend double time out of the game than actually playing to chase my own tail and take bugs for clues...sigh.. Must be masochist. [wacko]

Agreed on that part, I've said it before - I don't care if I need a spectrometer, a slide rule, or a particle physics lab to solve stuff in the game, so long as I can access these things in the damn game!

An amazing show of solidarity from the exploration community! CoR are overwhelmed by the support that has been shown to help vindicate Salomé and unravel some of the mysteries of the Formidine Rift, Conflux, and Hawking's Gap.

We would like to thank the Formidine Rifters, the Exploration Community, Lone Wolf commanders, and all the factions that rallied to the cause :

LOSP, SMAC, Paladins, Lorens Legion, ALD, Da Vinci Corp, Winged Hussars, Chapterhouse Inquisition, 9th Legion, Aislings Angels and LYR, Exo (X-Box) and TIIQ.
And of course the Brocast (Josh Hawkins, Turjan, and Shabooka) for dedicating a whole show to CoRs cause.
And last, but not least, Michael Brookes :)

All in all over 4,400 Commanders contributed and submitted in excess of 1.3 million scans after Alessia Verdi's call for help.

Salomé is a divisive character, and CoR are seen as a terrorist/cult/dissident faction in some peoples eyes, and this is exactly how great roleplay interaction is played out. The spirit in which this CG against the Federation was conducted has been excellent. Long may that kind of healthy interaction continue.

On behalf of CoR, thank you.

Glad to see that you guys one! A poke in they eye to Karl Devene and the obstructionist Mars High Astrocartography!

*Ahem*

I'm still a Federation citizen though so ... I'm on the surface of Eafots LZ-H b10-0 D 1 waiting for the content to become "unbugged". You CoR guys better stay on your toes because if I find it first I'm laying claim to whatever it is in the name of the Federation! The race is on.
