In all seriousness, though, my assumption was that it would be like the 'Tron'-style hologram we get in loading screens. This interpretation isn't quite so cool, alas!
I saw your Python wireframe skin go on sale and I was about to buy it but something didn't look quite right.
Original Python:

New Python:

as you can see, the new wireframe is wrong and doesn't match the original
if you would kindly correct it, I would immediately buy one!
Wrong.Fairly certain your picture of the original was taken side on, not top down.
Wrong.
FDEV artistic department messed it up, put the side view on top of the Python (new paintjob).

Umm...It's a mix of the two, the front 2 bars are inverted from the side view.
Right. Got black, why would I add a bunch of stripes advertising my ship's attitude and direction to its opponents? :S
Not to tread of furrycat's paws, but left is the new paintjob, right is the wireframe original:

As an 84'er with similarly overly keen pattern recognition the right feels more familiar and 'better', but I still like the new one.
Edit: I actually like the way the left looks as the paintjob, I don't like it as the wireframe alone.

Same here. Its wrong . FD fix it please. I will give you coin.
I'd still get it, if I hadn't run my paint job down to about 2%. Not cleaning up just yet!
I don't think it is fixable. The problem is trying to get the wireframe to follow the lines of the ship and the in-game version of the Python simply doesn't match the shape of the old one. They would probably have to redesign the entire ship just to get the lines to follow the shape of the vessel in a way that doesn't drive us "old timers" crazy. Looking forward to whatever they do with the Asp.

The interesting thing is (unless they've changed it) the wear on your paint job doesn't go away when you apply a new skin to your ship. You still have to go into advanced maintenance and repair it there.
I'm soooo glad I wasn't alive in 1984, as this doesn't faze me in the slightest.
