Been hyperdicted just once all day - and who'd have thought that all it took was carrying a UA and jumping to Merope.

Spent the best part of two hours (including the transaction server issues earlier) jumping <14ly at a time in my Vulture from Sol to Maia.

Then spent another three hours in the Pleiades cluster finding nothing.

Someone conveniently dropped a UA outside Obsidian in Maia so I grabbed it. Jumped to a random cluster star and then to Merope and bingo.

I wanted to try and get a side view of the ship jumping, which I pretty much achieved (video taken, maybe available later) ... a long thin wavy beam projects out of the front of the ship, which becomes a set of wavy beams as the portal opens up.

I had also promised myself that I'd run through the available systems to check the trajectory for triangulation purposes but COMPLETELY FORGOT!

I'm sorry. I must do better.

I'll try and get some kind soul to donate another UA to me later (as I passed it on once I got back to Maia) and get my act together.

Also, beware of "accidental" ship rammers at Obsidian station - keep pips to shields and stay below 100m/s.

Seeing as the external view is disabled, if you have a VR headset can you walk 'outside' your ship in it and have a gander at these bad boys, or are they constrained in the same way us flat-screen peasants are?

Hi, guys, I've been lurking in this thread intermittently for a few months now, and thought it was time to (attempt to) contribute.
I'm not sure if anyone else has done this yet, so here's a spectogram of an alien's ship scanning (not my video, I just found one with no background gunfire etc)

Did you notice the beam that the ship uses to create it's hyperspace portal?.

After scanning you, it flies away, spinning your ship. Your ship reboots after exactly one rotation. When you realign to the alien ship is has changed direction so you can properly see the beam opening the portal.

Obviously it is moving, but the pattern looks stable... or am i just seeing cloud animals?

Yes, green beam will make wormhole widened. It looks like 2 planets near the star inside... (right side of the bar code)

Wild guess, vertical bars are planets, horizontal stars?

Is it the same code for everyone (i.e. is it a destination) or is it different for everyone (i.e. it could be the local system etc.)

This video also shows that the UFO isn't heading towards the Pleiades when it jumps out again.

Regarding having a UA in ones cargo hold.....Hmm cant help but wonder why every video Ive seen shows 'toxic cargo corrosion' message in the top right ui info panel ?

Hello Cannons, havnt been here in a long time, because so many pages to read and not lot of time, what are your thought about this close encounter? Do there is a kind of ROE to approach that thing if encountered?
Did Rizal tried to analize the audio of the encounter yet?
My personal opinion that this is just a cinematic to attract people again to the game, but we are not going to see something new, or a Alien war anytime soon, but I hope to be wrong.
What you guys think?

Yep, like it's projecting whatever causes the opening.
