Different Theory

I have wanted to post this information for a little while with The Canonn Group (Recently just signed up with you guys but this is my first post), so excuse me if this theory has been tested already. Just thought I'd give a fresh, new perspective on the first contact theory, from the alien perspective:

* We know they are probing for items (Given the rate of chance is higher with a UA, the logic is sound)

* We know they are not hostile (So far), therefore must be scouts. They jump straight back to their 'dimension' after this. This means assuming the above is correct, it stands to reason their primary objective is recon for existing artefacts. Ancient artefacts.

* We know there's confirmed ruins of alien civilizations that have already been found within out system.

* We know they are scanning us, and they are not finding what they need.

So, the crux of this thought process is this; has anyone taken the known ancient relics found by XDeath 2 months ago, and attempted First contact with these in cargo hold?

This may be totally off, as I myself have read enough on the arc of discovery so far, but not had much first hand experience in visiting these sights myself. Let me know if I am completely off track here. [where is it]

Please notice that we hear sounds of the UV (Unknown Vessel). Sounds in space can't be heard can be heard only if visual-to-sound system of our ship is up and running

Woop. Finally happened to me just now from Pleiades Sector DL-Y D67 en route to Electra.

I managed to get a few Screenshots and a Video of the Encounter.

I got a few Screenshots of what is being referred to as a possible code in the Glare from the Alien Ship and it seems to Stretch as you move your head. (ED Tracker)

Remember before you go all Rambo on these ships.

"There was also another race mentioned in “The Dark Wheel”, known as the Oresrians. These were portrayed as a peaceful offset of the Thargoids, but very similar in overall appearance, albeit with a warning to Commanders to “Check the thorax markings and the shape of the fourth joint on each hind leg before jumping to conclusions."

So even though they are insectoid, these could be our guardians as well. The Thargoids could be trying to pull us into witchspace but the Oresrians might pull us back into real space before the Thargoids try and kill us.

Where did you get these statements? I could have missed them as well

I think somebody mentioned it a few pages back but as I say, I may have mixed up some posts. After all though, why would developers put big storyline stuff in a game if your average joe, has a sex life and things to do, IQ of less than four million couldn't solve the puzzles without all these extra things?

Just a couple of quick musings...

I've been watching a few videos of some "unsavoury non-scientists" trying to unleash their weapons on the Unknown Ship, with no noticeable effect (other than showing it has a massive amount of unscathed shielding). If we're theorising that this is potentially a Thargoid Scout, I wonder if any of these trigger happy chaps have tried a volley of mining lasers instead, like the old games?

On a more peaceful note, perhaps a more friendly headlight flashing, à la Close Encounters?

Also, anyone notice the strangely familiar 'whale song' just before the Hyperdiction kicks in? I remember a certain friendly barkeep once talked about similar things... "when you're out there they sing and then they find you."

Fly safe, and be careful when you poke the bears ;) o7

i think... i just realized what (when we first found the specogram) i think they mean by a key now... hear me out.... i could be overthinking it
remember when FD said "KEY" with green highlight? well.. what if the specogram of the UP is the portal?i mean we never solved it did we (the specogram)4 it uses merope as a start location to col 70 (the probes transmission thingy) kinda reminds me of a navigation system where it uses a point of referance to navigate you

well... a CMDR tried to enter the portal

outcome: https://youtu.be/SYmbwx7n6Ys?t=95

+rep Tikas! :)

insane pushback...

Ok i managed to get interdicted. I boosted as soon as i could and got extremely close to its wake as it jumped (directly behind it).... but the closer i got the slower my ship seemed.. like resistance pushing back.

I need to double check.

I was right then..... there was a force slowing down my ship and stopping me getting into the hole.

What if UA is actually an escape pod? Crashed Unknown Vessel has UAs scattered around...

I find that theory really appealing, it scans ships in a form of recognition SOS signal, and they corrode things to keep the occupant alive, it is very probable

I don't see why it's any less feasible than anything else

What if the pushback from the wormhole was because he tried entering first?

Perhaps try following right behind the AWBAAK.

Ive already done that (no video). but my post a few hours ago (relisted 2 comments above), i said i was being slowed down.

I was directly behind the ship as it entered and my craft slowed and was left behind.
