Actually I can. Besides the tesselation, everything else doesn't match. Even the pyramid patches are inconsistent with counts of triangles we're seeing. There's too much still unknown about the ruins themselves to be focused on old rugs and tapestries

Got a better idea? Bring it on.

Breaking news enroute.
We have discovered a pattern to get the obelisk to light up in different manners.

I'll bring up a stream to show you, ...
https://www.twitch.tv/panzertard

We have a pattern to do this.

ITS NOT WORKING!

WELL IT IS NOW

Thing is, we are going to test this pattern now with 1-3 players to see if it works.

So the only way to do this mission is in open? If that's so, - it rules out a lot of people including me. I don't have the time or energy to be griefed/ganked by the idiots/vultures who think it's fun. Would be interested to hear some confirmation from Michael Brookes.

Join Mobius. It's pretty active in Mobius and I haven't encountered any problems with people yet. And the obelisks were behaving the same as in open.

Watching Panzertard's stream just now I have realized that the ancient relic appears to be exactly the same size, shape, and color as the glowing part of an active obelisk... didn't notice that until I saw the obelisk from above.

Panzer's theory seems to be based around having multiple people near an obelisk when someone scans it - watching the stream now.

A light-year is a totally human construct as it is based on the Earth's rotation

The speed of light in a vacuum, is a physical constant.
How far light can travel in a single Earth year is a light year.

Technically you are right in that an Earth year is particular to Humans. But the speed of light in a vacuum is a physical constant.

But it has nothing to do with the Earths rotation, that is related to an Earth Day.

So many hands make light work.
Seems that somewhere along the way with so many people prodding and poking something has happened.

The same result may be possible in Solo, it might just take longer.

Yes, sorry I mean orbit not rotation. What do you mean technically? The unit "light-year" is a unit of distance that is totally a human construct. The speed of light was not mentioned and is not directly relevant. I was debunking the theory based on distances of 3,6,9 light-years, aliens would never use those.

They may well use them, but they sure as hell wouldn't be the same measurement as what we use. 10 of our Ly could be hundreds for them or vice versa, if they even created their own standard of it.

By pointing out that it is a human centric unit of measurement, but you got the year/day mixed up.

But the speed of light in a vacuum itself is a constant and could be used as a universal measurment between alien species if a more universal measurment of time was chosen... for example the Galactic year (although probably to long).

Try a private group

Can we get an MB confirmation that the ruin mechanics between solo, PG, and open are consistent? That a solo player or small group can fully do this mission? Would be great to know there's a mechanic to find on our own.
