My measurements weren't spherical, they were SRV to SRV done in Mobius group with a few others.
I'll be back to the ruins tonight after work to take new measurements and see if any distances have changed, purely out of curiosity.
i liked your map theory it was very interesting and i was really hoping it would turn something up, some of the ground structures have moved around from the original map you did by the looks, cant wait for the revised version and hopefully a possible pointer to more sites

Well that's the confusing thing. I don't see how you can tell that one of them is the key item and the other one secondary... It is just 2 items in your cargo hold.
I am using my ship to store 2 of each artefact so that I don't have to drive around the site every time to gather them, instead I just go back to my ship to swap the items. There is indeed an order in the transfer window. If I list a Casket first then an Orb (respectively Orb then Casket) to transfer to the SRV, when I transfer them back to the ship the list order hasn't been changed but since only the cargo hold matters, there is no more distinction.
ok 3 hours so far i have waited for the obelisks to reset, still nothing, 2 more hours and i'll have to give it up as too long a wait.
How you can tell is easy- just scan every monolith with just one item in your hold. The ones you don't get the fail message from are the monoliths keyed to that item (when you get no message at all, that means you have the key but not the secondary). There are plenty of maps around now to show how the monoliths are distributed by area to their required keys.
The actual order in your hold is not important.

That is quite literally the 100 million credit question. It is happening for undetermined reasons in multiplayer only and no-one can suss the logic yet.
Nothing out of the ordinary at first glance, so it was probably simply a graphics bug.
I saw something similar earlir, however, even though they were obelisks I had never seen active before, they gave the "data already received" message.
I think the activation sequence for the obelisks is based off the echo signatures. Activate them in the correct order and more obelisks will pop up. I look at the echoes that would be emitted by each obelisk from reload to reload and there was no consistency. My only guess is that the sequence changes every time but the idea stays the same.
Sequence would be Alpha, Beta, Gamma, Delta, Epsilon, Alpha Alpha etc. ending on Epsilon Epsilon

Unfortunately that only allows for 30 total. I haven't had a chance to test this theory out but yea.
What are the nearby SRVs carrying, and are they moving together?

Maybe you should annotate your images with dates, rather than Today and Yesterday. Those terms lose their reliability rather quickly.
Am I tinfoiling too much here, or are those obelisks lining up in the direction of the three Asps? Coincidence maybe but maybe they sense the ships... on the other hand, if this was the case then the obelisk on the top right should be the outermost obelisk and not the second one in.. hmm, back to scratching my head then I guess.
I find the separate image thing messy - I hata always have to scroll around on my separate screen. but it seems like everyone wants separate images.
This is big. Special obelisks activated from certain combinations. Can we work to replicate this in solo?
Good point, thanks! Anyway, it was a bug probably so it's irrelevant now.
I haven't seen a post to this effect, so throwing it in : Zeniths 'unlock' system of 1 defined relic per group and another to unlock only seems to work for the base (ie fresh in solo) 15 obelisks. I just got my first culture data (10/20) with Urn + Totem on Group D Obelisk 6.
There are NPC pirates in the area. I've had a few come by to scan me. If you have anything in your hold they attack as usual. Don't leave your ship unattended even in solo.
