Alien archeology and other mysteries: Thread 9 - The Canonn

I was wondering something similar. Has anyone entertained the idea that mounds A and F are stars and the surrounding lines represent orbits of moons, or the number of moons. The site looks like a system chart to me.

About that moon theory. We could easily have missed something, but I was in a wing with three other commanders earlier today for about two hours searching that area based on the picture. We didn't find anything, but I definitely think it's worth looking around some more.

I think you have to fly to Felice Dock and get your reward from "Ram Tha" :)

We just could make some pressure with lasers and guns ^^

Yeah, I flew back to Felice Dock, but could not see any option anywhere to contact or handing anything in to Ram Tah. :(

I've had enough. I'm getting sick of being booted to the main menu after not being able to "connect to the adjudication server". Whatever the bloody hell that means. I'm going to cash in the 10m, and then go do something that doesn't (hopefully) boot me to the main menu.
Please add a report to this thread if you get the adjudication server error at the ruins. Thank you!

It occurred to me that if the ruins plus the moon are acting as some sort of relay station into deeper space, maybe there's something to be found on the direct opposite side of the moon from where the "gunsight" is pointing?

There are some symbols on the thing that come out of the ground

I am as clueless as the next man when it comes to what order or where we should scan. I'm thankful we have The Canonn working hard in this.
I also feel there are probably two or three more sites as yet undiscovered

Now onto my own tin foil theory, which will certainly get lost in the depths of the thread.

I'm drawn towards the overhead layout of the ruins. Point A and the long arm south. It looks like a key to me with the surrounding area the cylinder.
I keep looking at the placement of the monoliths and the markings on the ground around them. Could they actually mean something by the way they are positioned, as to solving the order which we do things?

Could the area also be depicting an ancient story. Or is pointing us towards the next step?

Hi Guys,

I was writing down the direction the active obelisks are facing. I accidentally clipped the camera into the ground when I was at the obelisk on the main circle, when I was trying to align my SRV with the obelisk to make sure I had the correct angle.
Suddenly, I saw a small black object far away in front of the light of the sun. First I was thinking it was a python flying around the planet... but then another one appeared and it was moving ??

Not much later, I discovered a total of 3 small black objects, consisting out of triangles. There are aligned in a circle, 120° between each other. There is also a 4th black object, moving in a circle between the other objects.
It appears the moving object takes 4 seconds exactly between 2 objects, and takes exactly 12 seconds to complete the circle.

I made a short video on what I saw. Don't know if it is even remotely related to the alien ruins puzzle, but I thought it was very peculiar that the devs have put these objects right below the surface. Maybe it is related to some timer or something that can be used to discover a way to activate the other obelisks.

Going to investigate this further, since I find it very interesting. Will let you know if I find any correlation between the objects and the ruins.

They are under each of the ancient relics. The center piece that circles the others is frozen until the relic is raised from the ground, once it is raised it begins to spin in a circle inside the other 3 pieces. Have looked into it loads already. My guess is it is just something under the hood that relates to the relics rising, development wise.
I've just had a look for myself and they look almost identical to a bug that was reported a long while back. Occasionally above the target schematic on your ships HUD you would see a blank polygon that would spin relative to the motion of your ship. It would pivot around an invisible centre and would only be visible on one side of this as the polygon was clearly not double sided for rendering purposes. This looks like the same thing but underground and spinning relative to the rotating relics in the raised towers.

I think we do need to keep an open mind though.

I just noticed something while going over some data. I don't know if anyone has brought this up already, but according to the page "MF's findings" on this spreadsheet:

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet...13tODwHQdEnxLoVIj4ceGrpGQ8/edit#gid=441882596

Each item has a type of data associated with it except the relic, for a total of five types. There are also five data patterns: Alpha, beta, gamma, delta, and epsilon. One piece of data states that Alpha data patterns are usually associated with biological data. Other pieces of data make references to specific types of data as well. Is it possible that data patterns are linked to objects? From what I can tell, scanning obelisks seem to give a random selection of data patterns, but if everything I've just said is accurate and someone was able to find some kind of consistency in the types of data given by a particular obelisk, could we possibly make connections between specific data types given or not given and objects to determine combinations?

Scanning obelisks always gives either one or two data patterns, and combinations of objects are always sets of one or two. This doesn't take into account the Relic, but I' there could be something else that is meant to determine if a relic is necessary or not. What do you guys think?

This is so tenuous it's silly, but what the hell...

In the middle row...
- the glyph on the right *could* be a waxing/waning moon, kindof. Maybe the Guardian's were short-sighted, or art wasn't their strong point? /shrug
- the glyph on the left is a diamond, the possible compute error on the moon would be 'diamondish' when viewed from above.

The bottom row has some weird stuff:
- the left glyph could be a ring? or an eye? (or just about anything circular - scanner/whatever /shrug).
- the right glyph could be anything. (spinning asteroids? with a random line thrown in for some reason?).

The top row:
- left is incomprehensible.
- right is a triangle and a dot. (could be a relic, could be the ruins, could be that someone just really liked triangles).

This is amazing even if it won't give any answer. Thank You for effort. I'm thinking about that triangles too much lately.

From the other thoughts I have right now: Group G is looking to me like input output data/ships plug into ruins.

Has anyone put forward the idea that the two large ruins might be the magellanic clouds?

Second image has a few of the stars mapped.

68 G. Carinae looked fairly promising, it has a similar brown dwarf + ice ring with a similar moon + moonlet to the existing ruins. Chi Carinae was a no go. Didn't really check anywhere else.

I'm hoping with this race apparently using geographic shapes that their ruins aren't super cryptic and obscure.

This damn message bug is making this a very difficult task!!!
I find that the audio message always occurs but you have to be very lucky to get the correct text message - it's usually one behind.

After three full rolls through the Ancient Site (Synuefe XR-H D11-102 1 B) in solo mode my most successful run is 13/15. I've collected 12 mil first time, 13 the second and Im now at site with another 13 million.
Wasn't until partially through the second run I sused the message bug and how to handle hence the restart.

To avoid false positives I would suggest the following;
(1) regularly check your data and empty the Obelisk data to ensure enough room.
(2) If you receive an audio only message relog back into solo straight away and check your messages it's the only way to be sure.

Here's my confirmation;

BTW are there any decent groups that won't blow my asp out of the water in open (private) mode - I'm sick of the kiddies playing wack a mole - Cmder Buttie siging off for now...

Mobius PVE supposed to be good. However I'm in that group now, although there are 15000 members, all appear offline  might be server issues
I'm also looking into getting more science done. Maybe later more people will get online :)

are those raised towers the locations of 4 sites i wonder?

Middle one on the key could be this location and then other 3 somewhere else.

Could be way off of course, seems we need other locations to solve this puzzle as the initial mission says from more than 1 site.

There is absolutely something conspicuous-feeling about the locations. The one on the large circular plateau fits nicely with the architecture to a symmetry-keen eye; Sat as it is at the rim, in line with the ramp on the opposite side; But the other three have something haphazard about them.

Depicting a constellation? Constituting leading lines to follow on the surface? No signficance whatsoever? *tears self's hair* :7

When I've been there in Mobius PVE there are usually 6-8 others there. But they come and go and sometimes it empties out for a while.

Solo does feel rather lonely, especially with the ruins on the dark side.
