Alien archeology and other mysteries: Thread 9 - The Canonn

Have the Thargoids become that much of a myth that the idea of non-human intelligence is brushed aside like that?

Especially interesting to me is the contrast between ALD's denial
that being interdicted by aliens is "proof of the existence of non-human
intelligence" and Ram Tah's statement (in history data #8) that "conflict
is a common element of many species throughout the galaxy."

So one person denies the very existence of non-human intelligence, and another
casually implies familiarity with the histories of "many species throughout
the galaxy."

Has anyone analyzed the sounds being heard when hovering above the ruins? I'm thinking they have to be coming from the ruins itself.

The Imperial statement makes me think that it's more of an arrogant statement, that humans are special and are the only true sentient beings in the Galaxy. Duval who founded the Empire wiped out an entire race didn't he?

I'm thinking to hand in the mission to reset the progress and start from scratch, with a better method and attention to details.
Can someone confirm that the mission is repeatable?
I've read about it from a single commander, but I can't seem to find that post again, and I'm afraid to throw away the only chance...

I've heard that no it is not repeatable. Third-hand account says people have turned it in at 1million bonus and could not get it again.

Can you compare your 38 data packages with what the known 36 are (copy of all on here http://remlok-industries.fr/1030/the-guardians-lore/?lang=en#5) and let us know the 2 that are missing on there that you've been able to collect? Thanks

Edit: 39 now?

When I can find a moment, but you should be aware I only have 26 data sets, and I've not deleted anything except RAM TAH telling me I should try different combos, this event is confusing, confounding and frustrating, the numbers are not adding up.

I don't do a lot of planet activity so I don't know if the ambient noise is supposed to be this busy. Is the ruins putting out extra sounds? Also extremely sure that ambient noise is vastly different when hovering over the ruins then when on the surface in an SRV.

I know we're all pretty sick of maps by now but CMDR Maggie made this. I posted earlier of an annotated 3K map there were issues with it and these are the corrections. What they did was they sized up the overview map and stitched the clusters to it so they appear much more high def than they would originally.

I have completed the 13 scans in solo. Can someone point me in the right direction for Private and if Open is different than Private, instructions for that too? I am confused on what to do in Private/Open. I have looked at some of the spreadsheets that you guys have provided, but for the group stuff, it isn't really clear.

I've got another wild one to throw out there.

Bearing in mind that we've been told the aliens were humanoid in shape (or at least http://remlok-industries.fr/1030/the-guardians-lore/?lang=en says so, but I can't see it in the data?), and that Culture 11 tells us "We already knew they were capable of fabulous architecture, but these records show that buildings, statues, monoliths and even city layouts were a common outlet for aesthetic expression."

Does that look like a stick figure pointing/leaning to the left to anyone else?

one problem I have noticed with this map, seeing now after having just logged in to play in a pg for the first time doing this. the obelisks that are marked here are the ONLY ones that light up in solo. the first group I went to after logging in a pg, there were COMPLETELY different obelisks that were lit up.

Yeah it's not canonn standard. They did give out an 8K map where you can do that and size if down if you like. here's the link: http://i.imgur.com/PmMVsrj.jpg

Could someone clue me in on this alpha, beta, etc pattern people keep referencing? Are people mapping the types of data you receive (eg history, biology, etc) to patterns.

By the way, if you turn in the mission early, do you only get the bonus? Or do you get the bonus plus the 100 million? Because I really want just about exactly 100 million and would be perfectly happy turning it in and just participating more indirectly in the mission and don't really need the theoretical 101 million + 100 million of a truly 100% completed mission.

the first time i saw the alien ruins, i thought that site A reminded me of the laser from the death star at first glance, now finding out it is part of the "monolith network" i think that site A is what transmits whatever kind of signal they used in a directional method, if you position your ship in the middle of the triangle on the raised platform, and face vertical, there are 3 systems nearly directly inline with you almost forming a triangle, within a single jump range, i've only checked a couple of times so not sure if the systems will move about and it was pure coincidence they lined up.

the systems that lined up were;
synuefe DJ-F A93-4
synuefe DJ-F A93-2
synuefe DJ-F A93-0

this is my first post and not sure if this has been noticed and discussed before, but i am adament there is another site somewhere nearby, ram tah himself says in the mission bio "please explore as many ancient sites as you can find"
YES, THANK YOU! Yeah, I said it earlier, but as usual no one even gave it the time of day. This is part of a communications network -- that much is established. I think we should be thinking along these lines to figure all this stuff out. And wouldn't it be communicating with other sites (at least when it was active. Presumably not now, but who can say if it's truly 100% dead or not?)

My suspicion would be the beacons though. They just feel like they may be related to transmissions or something. I thought that even before I found out the place is officially part of a communications hub. I'm most suspicious about those three that are arranged in a triangle towards the top right portion of the site (if it's aligned so the larger circle is up.) Aligning exactly between them is very very tricky though. I can think of a way, but it's very tricky to say the very least...

If it is the beacons, the fourth one at the bottom left is absolutely very significant in some way, but I'm not sure. It throws off the triangle in a very interesting way. EDIT: Come to think of it, since they moved with the last update, it would have to be something in common with them before and now where presumably they are "easier" now than before.

But the UAs/UPs, which look very organic, don't look like they belong to a race fascinated with geometric shapes. Are we sure they're related?

Assuming yes they are, then perhaps we should look for two systems that form, with the currently-found one, an equilateral triangle, with all sides having a distance of 3 or a multiple of 3, from each other. So, any system that is 3, 6, 9, 27, etc. light years away from Synuefe XR-H D11-102 is a potential candidate :p (although this is a very shaky basis for searching)

Thats a great point. But a light year is a human metric since a year is based on earths orbit.

Maybe the 2 circles represent the planet and its moon with lines used to denote a measurement like we used with the gold platter on the voyager mission.

I have a hypothesis that the various objects sticking out "connect" with each other, forming a grid of equilateral triangles. I didn't have the tools to make the angles perfect, but here's what I think it roughly looks like:
http://i.imgur.com/Zqgg7X9.jpg
It's divided into 2 overlapping hexagons, and 5 lines are drawn across, perpendicular to the sides.

And we need to consider that only one side of an obelisk lights up. Maybe that ties in with what you're doing here

Or we should think smaller then. So for the bottom left maybe lithium (three, but if that's just the outer shell, from googling I think it would be sodium with three in the outer shell) and the top center maybe carbon (or if we're going by 3 outer, 3 inner, maybe aluminum.) We used hydrogen to describe the time for the record, but in this case maybe it means something else such as how to interpret some other portion of data.
