Not including the broken obelisks, out of interest... how many are there in total? (active or not) ((if anyone knows)) (((if it's 100 it definitely could answer some questions or help some of these theories)))

Could we 'brute force' this then in a Mobious/Canonn PG?

Commanders in ships: 2-5?
Combinations - commanders on the ground: 27
Casket
Orb
Relic
Tablet
Totem
Urn

Casket Casket
Casket Orb
Casket Relic
Casket Tablet
Casket Totem
Casket Urn

Orb Orb
Orb Relic
Orb Tablet
Orb Totem
Orb Urn

Relic Relic
Relic Tablet
Relic Totem
Relic Urn

Tablet Tablet
Tablet Totem
Tablet Urn

Totem Totem
Totem Urn

Urn Urn

That might actually be more work than required. There six ancient objects (including the Relic), so it might be enough having only five commanders in the ground.

Take Zone G, for example. I believe it's pretty clear by now that Zone G requires the Casket as one of the items. Have the five CMDRs in the ground hold a casket (required) as one of their cargo, and each commander fill the second spot with another item. That way you will have every possible combination for zone G in the ground:

Casket+Orb
Casket+Relic
Casket+Tablet
Casket+Totem
Casket+Urn

Now, have any of those commanders scan the active obelisks of Zone G. From the data bleed phenomenon, if there is data to be collected, one of them will get it. Take not of who got it, and their cargo combination. You should be able to put together the Obelisk/Combination that way. Keep in mind that for this to work flawlessly, all of the commanders in the ground would need to not have any data collected. If handing the mission in, and then getting it again resets the whole thing, then it might be a way to go about it.

As for CMDRs on their ships... They should be able to obtain every piece of data the people in the ground scan. It seems that the lit obelisks change as people enter and leave(?) the instance, so you could have others joining in a controlled manner so that you can keep track of which obelisks light up and which deactivate.

Time-lapse of moon

I was interested in seeing if the movement of the moon or the sky might yield any clues, so I made a time-lapse video of the moon setting over area A. Others in this thread have expressed interest in the movement of the moon and the sky, so I'm sharing here in case it's useful to anyone.

Figured this should be put to good use here.

A planetary navigation bearing calculator I made this weekend after looking for the ruins for like 30 minutes.
i added some popular coordinates on it.
If someone as other ideas, please share.
I was thinking about maybe a text area kept in local web storage and cookies to keep last destination coordinates or something.

Repped, just what I've been looking for, nice one.

does anyone know when the ruins are gonna be on the dayside again?

Probably tomorrow afternoon looking at the sun in the external camera view, it's about 2/3rds round the the planet.

157 i counted from the spreadsheets, not sure if they include broken or not, it's possible they do? Unsure who made the spreadsheets or labelled the maps

This is wonderful and much needed. THANK YOU!

Some further findings for zone E:

E18 Totem + Orb = success Culture 7
E35 Urn + Urn = success Bio 8
E11 Orb + casket = no message
E21 Totem = Caskwt = no message
E22 Totem + Casket = possible failure long lag though - needs retesting

I'll post a map with my current findings for zone E later

It does contradict the openness, according to RAM TAH the guardians seemed not to have secure channels, every communication was on open channel.

Its likely going to be a meta kind of Guardian...however to be honest we dont even know if thats what they called themselves...everything e have is coming through Ram Tah...maybe with the openness they were Guardians of the future....as in " dont make the same mistakes as us!"...i guess we will find out some day.

If things are set up correctly in game.

" please explore as many ancient sites as you can find " .
This sentence can't get out of my mind, I've been trying a lot of combinations and I start thinking I better focus on finding clues leading to another site.

It's a little suspicious that the double item combos are always the second unlock:

Language9 tablet+tablet (first one of this site is Language8)
Culture8 totem+totem (first one of this site is Culture7)
Biology8 urn+urn (first one of this site is Biology7)

They wouldn't have been as lazy as assigning them in sequence, would they? That would mean we can know all combos right now. I need to check...

updated: Holy !!!! I think this could work. I only have 1 mismatch with reported combo and one unclear reported combo:

Lovely little video.

From your alignment the moon doesn't seem to fit the side pillars quite as well as I thought from previous images.

What's the static bright spot just above the central pillar?

The problem isn't as much about knowing what combo to use (though that would be quite beneficial since that way we would only need a player in a ship to say that they got some particular data and we would know exactly what combbo to use in an srv to get the data) but rather the problem is knowing what kind of data is in what obelisk and how to unlock new obelisks.

That's beacuse it is not taken from the center of the compund, but from site A.

Here's a screenshot I took of the moonrise a few hours ago:

It rises exactely above the small "landing pad" and sets exactely at the large "landing pad" (no screenshot yet made, but believe me...)
