I'm back in Meene but I can't see a way to hand in data.
Look on the mission board for the ! hand in symbol, at the same styation you got it from like the other guy said.

So Professor Palin's statements has left me further confused. Can anyone confirm that in the Elite Dangerous timeline Thargoids were a thing? Is everyone just assuming they are dead?
They were a thing, they feature in many of the novels written during kickstarter.
Out of the Darkness by T. James is almost exclusively about a run in with Thargoids and is set in 3275 so only 28 years ago (in Game time).
I'm pretty sure it mentions the earlier Thargoid/human 'war' and the peace treaty that was signed by both sides.
Humans and Thargoids are currently in a state of peace.
If i remember correct Polaris is also a locked permit star and that's because i believe the peace treaty negotiations were held there? Someone might be able to correct me on this info.
There is a quote somewhere from the Devs that the general populous don't really know about them because the war happened on the fringes of the bubble and was more raids than capital ships/fleets, so for the majority they are sort of a myth.

The message found along with all that Hex code mentions the Ferent System? Is that a place?
Could be different system with the dif cut off since there's fragmented text. As if they ended up in a different system than they planned
I was thinking the same thing myself at first.
grasping at straws here, but don't we have a galactic coordinate system? these are 12 numbers. That could either mean that each number contains its own three coordinates and we could form two hexagons or each number is one coordinate, which would yield us with 4 systems... the number of beacons we have. I do not think however, that the Z-Axis (or any for that matter) have 36577.... as a coordinate and all those are positive numbers as well :/
last i checked the rule of thumb was used to decide how big a stick you could use to beat you wife....

I was thinking of doing that too once the sun came up. A beacon tower would only look like a pile of rocks from the air. Easy to miss. It could be in some of the nearby canyons too.Given that the ruins have been edited by forces unknown in this update.. I did a reconnoitre of the area around the ruins to see if anything new had been added. The fact that there are only 4 pillars when everything else is in 5s just doesn't sit right with me. I reckoned that plenty of Cmdrs would have landed just outside the ruins, so confined the search to uneven areas where ships wouldn't be able to land.
Found thus far: nothing. Nada. Bupkis.

So just for clarification, are we able to repeat the mission if we turn in? Tempted to do so....
