Dav's Q+A Livestream 26:50

Does anyone know the system being discussed here?

^^ this. Follow that link and it starts at 26:50.

"Can I explain why one system out by Barnard's Loop is Independent and Medium Security level. Well DaveSkillsGaming, I don't know which system you're talking about, but I'm going to take wild stab in the dark and suspect there is a planet base in that system with a population and faction will have a presence there.... so yes, not all the population is centered on Sol and Colonia. There are a few outposts of humanity in the deep reaches, some of them I don't think people have discovered yet" *cue Ed choking*

I can't see that question on the forums at least... nor google any reference to this system.

Barnard's loop is not *that* far away... I've seen it from the back and I haven't traveled much more than 4KLY in that direction. Would be a nice alternate bubble to Colonia, far but not week-long-trip far.

CMDR Rabbid-HH's amazing map is now the only map on the Frontpage, as it deserves it. Any other map, if needed, is linked inside the various spreadsheets.
Be my guest.

Thanks to him for PM-ing me to let me know about his map, and thanks to Comfy for pointing it out.

Just scanned all the obelisks with UA and UP in SRV .... Nothing happened for me :(

Need to be carrying artifacts found around the site, orb, caske, tablet, urn, totem, relic, need to be carrying one or two items in the srv cargo, then scan glowing obelisks, FAQ on front page.

That CMDR was thinking outside the box and trying to find "other keys".

I opted for depositing a UA and UP in the centre of the circular structures just to see if something out of the ordinary would happen but I did not notice anything tbh. It is good to know these things so as to rule them out.

I have also tried with the highly rare AI Relics salvage but again not seen anything of note.

Did you try scanning while holding and Orb and UA in the SRV cargo hold?

So, has anyone any idea what the code from Wendigo could mean?

Looks like Hex numbers. All characters from 0-F are present. Nothing outside the range.

I was more interested in the Medium Security, Independent system near Barnard's Loop that someone found, and Dav's (possible) suggestion that it might be an unmarked, undiscovered base.

Talking of distant bases, does anyone know why there is a Mic Turner research base in California Sector BA-A E6 in the nebula and how long it has been there?
Mic Turner has been dead a while as well:

I haven't heard anyone decoded it yet and I can't figure it out myself either... I was sure that some people had decoded these hex messages in ED before, however I can't seem to find any posts about such things...

People seem to disregard this since it is an old message - but what is to say that an old message can't lead to a new discovery... I mean, wasn't the formidine rift mystery supposedly in the game since like over a year ago by now? Yet only now are we getting somewhere...

Where in wendigo is it from?

Scratch that. I can't decode the hex, but I know exactly what it is. Dug out this picture... based on the date and the plaintext shown, it's a message hinting at Jacques location.

It's a corruption of this article that you can find in Jacques Station's local galnet history.

Jacques was found 5 days later.
