If the Pirate made a demand, I'd be open to haggling about it, as a true merchant would!
Honestly, I'd probably try and get them on good terms so they can be my pirate in my back pocket.
Makes no sense. I enjoy a proper bit of piracy and will always donate even though I know I can get clean away.
You can't use engineer comm's as an excuse but maybe it was one of those gifts to unlock an engineer or mission specific stuff?

I am kind of surprised you are surprised OP.
If someone tried to rob you and steal from you in any game (or real life for that matter) are you just going to roll over like a dead dog and give it up?
But we are in a game. Soooo....
1) They don't want to be stolen from.
2) They don't want to be stolen from and think they can get away.
3) They don't mind being blown up.
4) They don't want to be your content. But their in Open so I guess that negates that notion.
So #'s 1, 2, or 3. Take your pick.
One would think that this point is obvious, but apparently not.
So here's a question for all you pirates:
Do you limit your piracy just to the actual trade ships (Type-6, Type-7, Type-9) or are you willing to take on Corvettes, Cutters and Anacondas as well? Granted, most folks (mis)using these for trade ships are going to be more bluster than substance, but I'm just curious.
I've stated demands before opening fire (and waited for a response) and then repeatedly while firing at the target.
Help me understand.... Why?
Well if they can pay the rebuy, I can see plenty being annoyed enough not wanting to reward pirates for their behaviour. So I was pirating at the Parun CG last night and had 6, or so, customers. My demands were: drop 4t (four!) of cargo. I've stated demands before opening fire (and waited for a response) and then repeatedly while firing at the target. I let players go if they dropped cargo even if they tried to run first (other pirates may not).
But: Some players chose to be destroyed rather than dropping 4t. They are in Open with the chance of piracy and when someone comes along with very reasonable demands they seem to prefer losing their ship over it??
Help me understand.... Why?
What surprises me the most n the first place, is the fact that people still haven't high waked by the time a pirate sends his demands...
Because they don't obey space-scumHelp me understand.... Why?

That said, I still wonder why PvP piracy is the focus people take when they think piracy, PvE piracy is very viable, of course, you can't simply demand stuff by them, but rather you need to hatch break and such.

Sage Wisdom: Things are always in the last place we look, because once we've found them, why would we continue to look for them?

So who has the moral high ground when a pirate interdicts you and you're running a hold full of slaves?![]()
