So you want to know about the Formidine Rift? (Part 3)

It's instant anywhere else, except the bubble. I noticed it when I went to the alpha base, I forced dropped out of sc 30km above and there was a 5-8 second delay, same at the other sites. Dropping in on random spots it's pretty much instant but only outside the bubble, which it also happens on PC for me and on Xbox.
Anybody out here on Xbox atm on open?? Man it's lonely

It is lonely out here. I'm currently on Open on Xbox. My coordinates at this very second are -65.3893, -179.9709 @ EAFOTS GL-Y E2 6.

I'm in Open on Xbox, but I'm in Eafots EQ-Y E0

I am searching in PLAA AEC XZ-Z B41-0 (2) for several days now. I tried different ways for searching the planets surface and was wondering if these settlements are visible from orbital cruise mode (ignoring the distance or assuming a minimum distance of 25.5 km above the planet surface)?

They're not visible from OC, but they pop in on Glide.

Ca anyone help please, somebody found geysers in Conflux on PRU AESCS NC-M D7-192 but I'm struggling to find the post with a location?

Ok, so it's the force drop apparently that triggers it. I always see the delay on normal, altitude-based drops. Good tip!

I think you're thinking about me. Sorry, I never wrote them down, I just gave a picture that had the coordinates on the HUD. Here, I'll put it up again:

I'm about to head back out to the rift. Just managed to pick up the CoR listening post passenger mission as well. 21M cr :)

Should be back on search within a few days.

Question for anyone who has done passenger missions like this one. Should I scan the CoR listening post on the way there or the way back? Don't want to do it on the way there and have them demand I return immediately...

To be honest, it feels pretty good to be back at the bubble after jonking for days, then spend about two weeks staring at (beige) surfaces for hours on end, to spend some more days jonking.
I reallly needed a break from that and I will be spending a couple of weeks trading, engineering, missions, doing some PP and shooting stuff in general before I head out there. Almost feels like a vacation [big grin]

Best of luck to all of you who persevere out there though!

yes ! it is wierd. i just landed on Mic Turner Base after month in the rift. and i feel so relieved. and there are not even players here.
but first i got interdicted - is that necessary?

i had found an eartlike planet in PHREA HYPA NT-F D12-3, but thats only ~700 ls from beta settlement and i didn't find anything there. i did not find anything for that matter...
i went as far as EOR AIM NT-Z D13-3 and it is dark out there...

Wow, I actually saw another CMDR on this planet... Makes a change to see another CMDR, and they don't want to kill me!

I once happened along two Commanders in a wing together at NGC 7822. Exploration is the one activity in Elite: Dangerous where a meetup like that turns into an opportunity for screenshots instead of shot shots. :)

First pass I've done, starting from 0,0 and heading at bearing 0 all the way round and back again. Now I'm doing the same but at 0,6.0000.

If anyone wants to do the same and start at 0,-6.0000 that will make this process a whole lot faster. Just head at bearing 0 when in supercruise, then at every 5 degrees covered (5.0000,6.0000 then 10.0000,6.0000 then 15.0000/6.0000 and so on) nose down into a glide. If the transition from SC into glide is still quick, keep rinse and repeating until you've done a whole lap
