Myth Broken.. Traders are no longer defenceless: T7 beats a Cutter

That video made my day. Once again Nitek delivers on some first rate entertainment. Sure, he wasn't trade fit and the Cutter pilot was pretty inexperienced, but that doesn't stop it from being fully awesome.

I especially enjoy all the PvE pilots reactions on this thread. Good stuff all around.

OP, I'll hit you with some rep when I get back to my computer:)

This, the type 7 was clearly built to be as much of a combat ship as possible. And the cutter was.. not very good. But it was entertaining at least.

So have a way to cause an insta-kill? Cause that wouldn't be OP at all!! (SARCASM WARNING!!!)

This may have been a trading ship, but it wasn't a trading build. No actual trader has weapons, HRPs or SCBs. Try this again with an actual trading build and being the victim of the interdiction. Then I might buy it a little bit.

Plenty of traders actually have weapons, believe it or not.

Really weird logic going on here, but that is to be expected with the "git gud" crowd.

An Elite PvP pilot kills a noob in a T7 which he probably could've done in a sidewinder. So now, the average Trade pilot is completely fine in a T7.

Hey, listen, if you are an ace combat pilot, you have my utmost respect. This game is not easy, and you mastered it. You are a better pilot than me, and probably better than the majority of the player base. Such as it is, the game should not be built or balanced around you.
Sure, you are deserving of respect, but please, leave some space in the game for the rest of us.

To fend off NPC pirates. Not to take down a player. Stalling tactic at best. My point still stands.

Funny video, but if a pilot sucks it doesn't matter how great their ship is. I once bested a CMDR in a Federal Assault Ship in a combat-fitted HAULER...

Any decent pilot would have nuked the T-7.

Great video, but don't try this at home kids...

It demonstrates that trade ships are far from the defenceless things they are often described as being, if equipped correctly. However, one might need to sacrifice some jump and cargo capacity for survivability. I know this because I too have traded from time to time, and surprise suprise, I've never had one destroyed - even when assaulted by wings of players.

"sacrifice some jump and cargo capacity for survivability"

LOL! Considering Nitek's T-7 there sacrificed all of his cargo capacity, you're just taking the mickey now mate :)

He didn't sacrifice his cargo capacity.... he was transporting hull reinforcement packages. [haha]

"I have brought the reinforcements you asked for!"
"Great than unload them so i can pick them up."
"Unload? Got any Space engineers aboard your ship with installation-tools?":D

Thread title should be:

Myth proven! Traders are so defenceless that even someone in a T7 can beat them up.

I like this one too.

Although to be fair, even if the Cutter was the one being interdicted, he took one look at the T7 and obviously overstayed his welcome purely based on threat assessment.

Maybe thread title should read:

Here's what a wolf in sheep's clothing can do.

I think so. :)

I'd like to ask Commander Nitek; is this your card?

And when mans like him can run amok, and no one do anything about them? Than something is not right. Than justice is too soft, perfect situations the wolves to arrive and have their ways on the lambs.

About the poor noobs? Well... What you can say or do about it alone? Not too much. They are either getting used to it, or go elsewhere. All you can do is to warn them tell them what's the bare minimum. what they must always keep in mind. If they don't? Like while the last community event and you have to explain them in the middle of a griefer attack, while you fired upon? What you can do? Give them a darwin award, and a pat to their back, with some comforting words. Better luck next time, because if you don't understand the warning, and there is no time to explain? What's remains? Learning the hard way.

Call back a minimally armored asp in hope it can land and you can get aboard and take off, to pick up the fight, before shot down? Chances are 0.000001%
Chances to win against 3 well armed griefer? below zero. The smart thing is to run.
shameful? Think this if you like. Better than to be a sitting duck, who already announced his presence by shouting warnings into the radio.

I would like to see a wing of modded Battle-T7:s going around griefing griefers! The fighters alone could pack a real punch.
