Had something happen to me today that made me mad enough to post on the forums.

I do not even care to expend the energy sending in a ticket to try and have my game restored, because in all honesty this should not have happened in the first place. It is frustrating to a point where I would rather give ED the middle finger than spend any time typing a lengthy ticket as to what I was doing before the game crash.

Great. Thanks for that. That will really help the developers get to the root of the problem.

Thanks for driving me away ::golfclap::

Thank you for helping to improve the game.

The question now is, "did you take your net logs and post them to the bug report forum to help QA figure out what is causing it, or did you just come to the forums to complain?

Contact support, they might be willing to restore your ship

No sir I did not bother to do any of what you suggested I came to the forums in a fit like a child. It was not that I had lost, it was the fact that the event had happened. Like I said I had a moment of weakness and threw a temper tantrum here on the forums, which I do regret but I can not undo what I have done. What I can do from here forward is too not act like a child and add to the community constructively instead of what I did do by adding to the community toxicity. Hind sight is always 20/20

I see two issues with NPC crew on this scale.

(i) Beyond the docking computer, Frontier have shied away from the concept of automated flight.
(ii) NPC Pilots are the last gap any good macro writer needs to setup a automated trader process.

I get this from time time to time but I've only been getting it since I changed to Nvidia card from ATI, so I thought it was a driver bug, as the wife gets this on HOTS, (which is played on a Nvidia), as do I black screen but the sound is still going, unlike HOTS we are able to get back into game. ED needs a task manager shut down and a reboot. So my blame would be with Nvidia's drivers not FD.

this Bug is in since a year; numerous bug reports already filled.
but be careful speaking, some moderators will lock this topic or even delete it! (done with mine, I even got an infraction because I posted THIS Bug one month ago!!)

Looks like they deleted it. Knowing the mods, I'd say they deleted it because it was against the forum rules, insults and certain words are not allowed here. You can post about bugs all you want.

The whole "screen going black but still being able to hear the game is still going on" used to happen to me a lot a few months back. It got to the stage that when it did happen to me in combat, I was able to go through the steps I'd memorised to quit the game gracefully without combat logging. But the reason I didn't pull the plug was less to do with morality and more laziness. It was easier for me to use my gamepad to leave the game. The game had crashed. There is no obligation to listen to your ship being destroyed.

I don't think you come on here to ask for advice. You came to vent, and ask for sympathy which I am more than willing to give. But the usual advice is to make sure your drivers are up to date, and that it is better to tell Frontier about the problem, because despite what you may feel now, they really are trying to give their customers the best and bug-free experience possible, and any information you pass them will be appreciated by them.

Given the nature of the crash it's not a computer issue. It's the only game-crashing item on the known issues list, has been around for over 6 months, and it still hasn't been fixed. Poor response from FD.

This is not a rage quit thread... it did not drive me very far... but it did upset me to a point where I came to the forums and posted my frustration. I love this game too much to wander too far from it. I have no need to restore my game because I will just grind it back. I just had a moment of weakness and in frustration i cried on the forums......

Make no mistake about it, I love this game and enjoy it to a point where it should be illegal.

Cheers~

When these things happen and they do now and again. It is really frustrating.
You know rule #1. Rule #2 is cash in your chips as you go along. Don't let them build up to a significant loss if you die.

U mad bro?

Just sounds interesting in a different way, to me.

It is older than that. FD fixed it but from an earlier post. It is back under different circumstances.

Aah, had this a few times and thought it was peculiar to me, my system and my ancient graphics card ... raedon 6670

So the screen goes black but the game continues in the background. When this happens i do a ctrl alt delete as i assume that if i dont im going to die most horribly...

Interesting

Thnk the Heavens this bug doesnt happen when engaged in EXPLORATION!

See, more players should engage in EXPLORATION.

Its less buggy and if there were more tools and content, more players would get involved in EXPLORATION!

Why even play when the game is just going to stop working and go to a black screen while in the middle of combat only to relog in to find myself at the rebuy screen.

Get your s@&t together ED and make your game stable.

Whats the point of playing when a week or so worth of being overly careful to not die, is gone in a few seconds all because of a game hiccup at my expense. I do not even care to expend the energy sending in a ticket to try and have my game restored, because in all honesty this should not have happened in the first place. Sounds like your graphics card driver is crashing. Have a look in your eventlog for something like "graphics card driver stopped responding and has recovered". If you find those, try updating your drivers. If you're on the latest, try rolling back one or two versions.

Quick fanboys - some howwid person is having a go at your ickle, spacey-wacey game again..time to sound the bugles!

Jusy FYI, usually issues that have been around that long ARE computer related, since likely devs can't reproduce them, or they would likely be fixed.
So yeah 'given the nature of the crash' at least in my experience with computers make no sense, it is likely a load issue, or driver issue.

From time to time (when I used to play this tedious game), I would look right and left, and take a screenshot.

This way, if there was a loss of data, or cras,h or dispute, I could send this to ED and get myself refunded to that status point.

Their customer service is in my experience very good - it's just a shame the game sucks through a complete lack of direction from DB.
