Constantly having the same 2 Elite ships thrown at me every interdiction is kind of ruining the game for me.

For sure. I can just imagine the devs talking about the spawn system and deciding they can't be bothered today to make a decent system, so let's just nip down the pub for a few, and call it a day.

Devs are well known for being lazy after all. Nobody lazier than developers, its a well known truth. /s

In this respect I think it is lazy.. Spawning bots on a player where all you get is the same thing over and over again re your relative rank. I've no doubt someone at FD thinks its 'gamey'.. Its not, its trash.

I think Frontier can do better than this. I also believe it was something done quickly post 2.1 ai nerf.

It's the wonders of the game spawning ships based on the player instead of based on the environment. Diversity and believability be damned! /sarcasm off

Try changing ships, either from a larger or smaller. All the pirates change ships too. It's really goofy.

You still aren't hearing me...my problem is not about being interdicted or being overly harassed by NPCs. The problem is that all the NPCs doing the interdiction are all the same Rank. And they only fly either an FDL or Conda. Only those 2 ships absolutely nothing else is sent against me no matter what ship I am in. Eagle/Winder for example should attract smaller ships to target you. Not in my case. Nothing but elites in the same 2 ships. I am not complaining of difficulty. I am complaining of lack of variation.

Look at the shipyard. Do you want Elite T9s and Belugas going after you? :D
Yes, there isn't much variation in big ships.
But imagine the outcry if Frontier gave Corvettes and Cutters to pirates.

On that we can agree. Then again, that's kind of what Elite is. "Screw you, make up your own stories" thing works for me, but I can see how it's not working for everybody.

I see what you are saying and folks do but the OPs complaint is fairly valid judging from my own experience.

And I'm still baffled as to why you're complaining about it. Are you sure you're a combat pilot?

It would be nice to see more variation in ships I agree, but if you want to be taken seriously I would suggest you post your suggestions in a less provocative way. ;)

It seemed like a fairly reasonable complaint to me. Its over two years since the game was released and I don't see much evolution or improvement in much of the gameplay.

This is not to suggest ED is bad but for anyone who has played for a while the PvE game does get pretty boring as a result.

Because it is lazy annoying crap being constantly bothered by the same 2 ships rather than the handfuls of Pythons and gaggles of eagles that used to harrass me and give me variation rather than the same 2 ships over and over and over and over and over and over and over. Yeah I am a combat pilot. Who is sick of fighting the same 2 dudes over and over and over and over...

Don't expect it to change any time soon. If you've been playing long enough to make Elite, you should know FDev's pattern when it comes to changing things.

Well something is really missing from the PvE game, it sure does look wonderful, and the flight experience and immersion is second to none.. but fighting the bots is tedious, the BGS is like a dash board of blinking lights, and so much of it still feels placeholder (think USS).. and thats putting it politely.

One of my old time favourite games was Spy vs Spy.. I could, and still can play this for hours and enjoy beating it on the hardest difficulty..

ED has a long way to go but I'm not very optimistic quite frankly. An 8 bit game like this has better gameplay than ED.. lol wat?

Not as helpful as another complaint thread. You're Elite, be happy. Some of us are still toiling away at Dangerous.

I hate to break it to you but being 'Elite' doesn't mean anything in this game bar having access to some higher paying generic missions.

It means access to Shinrarta Dezhra, which I don't have.

Its useful for outfitting.. thats about it.

It also scares off gankers.

Maybe, it is nice to have Elite as your displayed rank I'll agree but other than that there is nothing else.

NaCl will attack anyone regardless of rank, and we often do so around the founders system. If anything would deter potential attackers it would be your own standing with other players and the in game rank has little to do with it.

Sorry to come off as being a misery.. I'm feeling a bit annoyed today for some reason heh

I don't like being barred from content, regardless of how useful it is. I'll never have all the Engineers unlocked until I get into that system. I don't care how useless she is.

As for being annoyed, I can definitely relate. Searching for these stupid new ruins sites for days has taken its toll on my nerves. If I see one more slightly shadowed crater that looks suspicious and turns out to be nothing I'm going to scream.

I hear you. I've had access from KS from day one so..

lol..

Well, if you are elite ranked, and in a decent ship, you should expect to face elite opponents. I can't see wanting a Expert to challenge you, when you are ranked elite. Do you just want pushovers every once in a while?

It's really an issue of frequency vs internal consistency. Elite pilots are supposed to be (very) rare, but whether you're Elite or Mostly harmless you'll be interdicted by leveled NPCs just as often as long as you meet the criteria (cargo or bounty).
If, as should be expected, most NPCs below your rank avoid messing with you, the rate of interdiction should get significantly lower as you rank up. But apparently even backwater systems with 2k pop have dozens of Elite pilots interested in your 5k bounty from 150ly away or your 2 tons of biowaste.

Ok so still trying to figure out the exact issue here. The OP is an npc magnet because of mission, cargo, bounty or a combination of all 3, so its frequent...no big surprise there all normal enough. The OP is ranked elite and is facing enemies equal to that rank, or as equal as flying spuds get in rank at least, and only fellow elites and this is the issue?

There are a number of solutions to this...

1/ Beg support to lower yer rank to the one yer most comfortable with as that obviously isnt elite.
2/ Live with it and git butter.
3/ Run down the street naked singing nellie the elephant packed her trunk and left to follow the circus.

I need to stop using these forums...seems the apple has indeed fallen a long way from the tree if this is worth an entire thread on a saturday night. Its so funny, I cant laugh...same difference ^

Ways to get rid of them :

None of this addresses the key issue here, namely that once you are elite, the game constantly spawns elite enemies on you, making it look like Elite pilots are super common. Also the same ships all the time. No diversity, no wings, no other ships ever. Always an FdL or an Anaconda.

It's super shallow and really needs to be addressed.

Also keep in mind that this basically removes ships like Lakon Types from our ship list forever, because no matter how good you are, a Type 9 is not gonna last the 15 seconds hyperjump charge against an Elite Anaconda.

A wing of 5 expert ranked Eagles would be just as dangerous as one Elite FdL; and that would be far more realistic than an INFINITE supply of Elite pirates.

Since I reached Elite a couple months ago No matter what ship I choose to fly the AI will send only an Elite FDL or an Elite Conda to kill me. (And the Elites have totally cheated HP) Same two ships

what kind of ships are you flying?

while i'm only interdicted by FDL and condas when in my (trade-)cutter, (exploration-)conda, (mining-)corvette and (multipurpose-)python, i get the broadest range of ships interdicting me in my DBE, and a good variation in my cobra.

i personally dislike the ship- and rank-depending spawn, too --- flying the DBE or the cobra is my workaround.
