Beautiful ruins. I found a shipwreck a little to the north. Can't explore more until tonight, but I thought this was a nice view of them from afar.

Hmm. May need to reinstate the Ram Tah mission with a quick trip to Meene before I begin the scanning :p

And my guess at this point, there's one more base that will look like site 1 and 2, this different site being a central hub.

OOOkay, did anyone else just get a "permit is required" I was hovering over the central part at 117 meters mapping, then suddenly I'm at 144km with that message!

Alright, so my last post claimed that the sound strings that the obelisks emit are time-aligned. It since then has turned out that while yes they mostly are time-aligned, it seems to have no importance. After even more inspection, I *finally* noticed that there are only 7 different tokens, which are demonstrated below.

At first I thought that L3 also had a variant, which I named L4 and I was already jumping with joy, because base8 numbers fit exactly into 3 binary bits (note the number 3), which would have made a huge amount of sense... alas, it was not to be and I can confirm that indeed there are only the 7 tokens + the [END] block which always stays the same.

So with those tokens we can divide the messages like shown below:

The above string would be: SL1VL2L1SBSBL3L2VL1L2BL3VBHL2L3HL1VHBL1L2L3S[END]

It is interesting to note that my rule about there never being 2 tokens of the same type in a row still holds true! So, CMDR Farran speculated that perhaps it is indeed a language. We know that the Guardians used sign language to communicate, making two of the same sign in a row makes no sense, right? so naturally you can't have 2 tokens in a row... in addition, 7 gestures of some sort can be arranged into strings of gestures/tokens - aka. words! So we think that the strings transmitted by the obelisks are indeed words (or even sentences). So, now we definitely need some linguistics people working on this!

EDIT: I will post the strings I have tokenized -

~CMDR Clanga

We know that the Guardians shared DNA & RNA. We are told they were skilled genetic manipulators

I've long been waiting for the devs to shift into the realm of genetics for their puzzles...

Could it be that the strings and tokens form (part of) a genetic description? The concepts of 'start' 'separator' and 'end block' look startingly similar. Plus you wouldn't expect to find loops.

The genetic code contains 4 'letters'. Add start, separator and end - and you have 7 components....

Having said that, I've no idea where one would go next with attempting to render it into something comprehensible.

Weird bug over at X0-P D2, big patch of ground shrouded in darkness for no apparent reason (nothing to cast a shadow) - should I scour it fully?

Sooo, your idea of being 'right' in this instance is taking all of the references from the data given, and making a random, overly sexualised drawing? If you say so...

You mean from my threads that I created before the CG to find more sites, with only 1/3 of all information available to me at the time?

I faced huge criticism in both - low and behold, I proposed the sites could have a religious meaning before any data was actually deciphered during Ram Tah's first Community Goal:

https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showt...tellar-Temple-and-Thargoid-Worship-Hypothesis

Once we had biology and history from that CG, I created this one way before Ram Tah's second CG:

https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showthread.php/322482-Carnivorous-Space-Elves-AKA-The-Guardians

So excuse me while I feel... what's the word... vindicated about both of my hypotheses?

I've only ever tried to en-rich the community, but it is amazing how many people will turn both barrels on you and shoot.

Because I'm on Planet 1 in the other Synuefe system...

Want me to be in 2 places at once?

I mean if I was desperately trying to keep my 'hypothesis' going by continuously coming up with random co-ords (like you) then i'd at least try and find it myself before being proven wrong over and over again.

But that's just me, you just want everyone else to listen to you and follow your (wrong) 'hypothesis' [wacky]
