So are we pretty sure that there's one at C22-17 as well?

I'm guessing C22-17 C 3 A is likely out since's tidally locked, and we need something where the moon / planet actually traces a path across the sky?

Congratulations CMDR Khenistry for finding the ruins. They are magnificent in their uniqueness! :D

The central feature of the new site is concave, what does that mean? A black hole?

Well folks, there's no denying we're looking at some sort of a star map. Perhaps even a central location in relation to other sites.

1. I presume people are now going to stop having hissy fits over two sites being the same, despite having zero information why, and just assuming laziness (despite there being thousands of identical human ground ports).

It's not that the layout is the same. Using the same layout makes sense. It's that the wear and tear, the crumbling obelisks and fallen walls are all the same. If both sites were pristine it wouldn't bother me, or anybody else i imagine. It IS lazy to just copy paste the same crumbling ruins around the galaxy, like the process of aging is exactly the same on every planet they put them down on.

I spent 3 days between C3 and C3A with nothing but a few POI's, so in a sense I hope it's not there :)

Just catching up - I'm guessing we will have a few "types" of ruin (3 would be a good bet) - I'll predict that to finish Ram Tah's mission and get all the data you'll need to visit one of "each" kind - Deja Vu site I suspect will give exact same results as the first and I predict finding carbon copies of this new one and hopefully a third unique "template" ruin as well.

If you are correct I should have stayed up until 3AM instead of 2 :(

I am probably only a few km away, been following the setting moon/planet

I guess its time for me to link back to THIS post.

And THIS one.

You know, for science, and all that

Gloating, for science or otherwise, gets right up people's noses. When it's highly arguable doubly so, when it's constant....

ps. it occurs to me it's like claiming you're a deadeye shot because you can hit a can with a pellet using a sawn off shotgun at 2m.

Believe me, it hasn't been well received by many in this thread - I'm "wrong" a lot because all the co-ords coming up haven't been exact, lol.

They are near enough on all three to tell me that you have a good method - sure beats racing all over the place :) - I think I have been everywhere on the surface except the location of the third ruins on that damn planet in last few days :p

The red sun remains stationary over the horizon, aligning perfectly with the 'notches' in the middle of the concave feature. If that is not a simple road sign or a reference point then I don't know what is. :)
