Sure, I'm playing many games too, however as I spend a lot of time in this game, I would like to know if the game will last next year or if there is a risk of dumping it.
The reason for this thread was due to some members of the community were concerned about the finances of the company.
I'm assuming, not in "" quotes![]()
So is it Firefly, Stargate, or BSG?
"LONDON (Alliance News) - Video games developer Frontier Developments PLC on Monday said it has licensed rights from an unnamed Hollywood studio to develop its third game franchise.
Frontier said its third franchise will be based on an "enduring movie franchise of global renown", but provided no further details on which movie franchise the game will be based on. It said further details will follow later in 2017.
You can relax now
The new game will be the third developed by Frontier after Eliteangerous and Planet Coaster.
However that will take resources and manpower away from ongoing game development (ED/PC), how they are going to manage that will be interesting.

"The third franchise is an important next step in our growth. We have chosen to license this particular IP to work with as our third franchise, because we believe we can create something very special. It is creatively stimulating, already has a high worldwide profile, and is a perfect match for our expertise," said Frontier Developments Chief Executive David Braben."

Hope it is Star Wars elite version.
Frontier isn't going to risk undermining sales of ED by releasing another space game.
Products like Pizza and other short term products really doesn't matter. However Imagine if you time warped back to when the iPhone was introduced, and you needed a new phone.
Nokia or Apple? Nokia was one if not the biggest mobile phone producer in the world, where are they now???
Elite Dangerous is not a short term product for many of us, this is a journey, and we would like to know if the ship that takes us on this journey is in good shape and can bring us all the way to the finish line.
A lot of people are concerned, but the concern is not built on facts.

Previous threads pointing out Frontiers market position have never managed to alleviate peoples concerns and I suspect this won't either.
It's just one of many things people here use to talk down the game or talk it up.
I must admit I do sensibly chuckle when I see threads and posts from people losing their minds over Frontier developing more than one game at a time.
Thank you for bringing data. Every schmuck who ever took a business class likes to pretend Fdev is in peril. They are not. That paint job you buy is not saving the company despite what some people like to think.
