I am about to get a new system which has:
*Nvidia GTX 650 (1GB)
*16MB Corsair DDR3 1600MHz
*AMD FX6300 6 Core processor (Over clocked to 4.1GHz) 8MB Level 3 Cache, 6MB Level 2 Cache
* Asus M5A78L-M Motherboard
* Seagate 1TB SATA HDD At 7200RPM Transferring At 6GB/s
* Blaupunkt 39" Full HD 1080P TV
I cannot change this setup, but will this run ED at a decent level of graphics setting ??
nice, but... think twice
I came myself across the new pc question, and finally upgraded to an i4820K (Watercooled) on an Asus MB with 64GbRam (1866), TitanBlack, SSD disks...
Why think twice? I was to buy a 6 core too.... but... most games need heavy graphcard support, there won't be much more fps just because of more cores on the cpu: gpu counts and will do even more for future coming titles! Now the 64Gb ram was intended to boost disk access times for swap and temp files (works well with a RamDrive!), and also because I'm heavy working with premiere pro & after effects, very heavy on RAM. (so my needs are varied... and now fully covered)
If you can easely afford a 6Core cpu, go for it, of course.... but if you have to make choices, then go for a 4Core cpu, and at least a 7xx series from nvidia, with at least 4Gb ram (think future coming titles, not only ED)...
So my advice, if you're obliged to choose because of little money: get a 4Core cpu and way better graphcard! I'm very happy with my TitanBlack... I guess my rig should last 2 years w/o problems.
Oh, just saw you're to get a HDD... this also would be very wise to get an SSD drive, you'd be amazed how fast it boosts your pc booting and loading times!!!
