2.3 NPC Pirates

Just got interdicted by 4 pirates in a row 10 or so Ls from a station, one was an Anacoda and the other two were Pythons. Lost two missions worth (80 tons) and a Python rebuy of 2.5 mil... within 5 mins of playing. Bug or have the goalposts been shifted?

What was the ranking of the missions? ;)

Sorry for your lost, but sincerely hoping that NPC have become harder

Yeah I can understand that but I wasn't prepared for it. Also 3 pirates in succession then 2 at once is too much for a ship kitted out for cargo, especially if they're ships with heavy masslock- an anacoda and another python both with missles.

Didn't check the rank as I never have problems with running but it's the most pirates I've had chasing me. It was basically impossible whatever rank it was.

And haven't they firepoked the interdiction difficulty back again to almost having to submit as b4? It was fine as it was FD...like really.

2,5M rebuy on python? ... ohh, this is clear pointer on what's wrong here. It looks like using E rated ships for missions is not the best idea :)

Mixture of E and D. It's kitted out for cargo as I said eariler- no weapons but has chaff and point defence + shelid boosters.

The two missions were 145k and 395k payouts so not high ranking.

On the contrary, the patch notes mention making them even easier.

Sounds like a glitch then.

Did you feel that the interdiction difficulty was less than 2.2?

Well, better pay attention to them. Elite-ranked missions can spawn very difficult opposition for traders. Sounds like you've been lucky before rather than unlucky now. :p

Thing is, that practically any ED ship E/D equipped is a crap. This is imo sort of newbie trap when commander have only money for buy new ship but not enough to properly equip it AND have at least 3! insurance payments. With more costly ships is this going only worse.

Thats why newbies shouldnt encounter such a trap in a python but in a cobra...

I seem to be getting interdicted more often now. Not doing any missions, no cargo in hold, no bounties & not allied to any PowerPlay faction.

It's starting to annoy me.

Alternatively, if you can't afford to fly it...

Can't remember the exact update as I didn't play for nealry a year but it was when one or two pirates could serial interdict you over and over and over again. I was low rank in a T6 so couldn't kill them I remember people complained about it as you couldn't get away- they keep on interdicting you until you got bored and logged out....

As I mentioned previously they were only 145k and 395k so not high ranking- both local delveries only one jump away to high and medium security systems. Usually I don't do cargo missions less than 450-500k and do 1.2 - 1.6 million cargo missions all the time but my favourite boom state factions have stopped spawning them.

I'm an experienced trader- getting near tychoon with 85 mill in the bank and another 150 tied up in ships and modules so rebuys are not a problem for me. I keep the Python D/E rated as it's just a local (under 40 ly) cargo runner for earing credits.
