Hey folks,
New Picard Release!
https://github.com/jtickle/Picard/releases/tag/v1.0.6-beta
Just skip right over 1.0.5 and don't worry about it.
Features of Note:
* Multi-Commander Support
If you only have one commander and Picard has been working well, you should not notice any difference. If you have multiple commanders, it should autodetect which one you have been working with, or ask if it can't figure it out. You can then select a different commander from a list, and go through the Inara setup process again. For each new commander in Picard, you need to manually synchronize with Inara before setting up Picard for that commander.
* Journal Path Customization (and better guessing)
If you are running Elite Dangerous in a language other than English, Picard has been unable to find your journal files, because it was looking for "Saved Games" and not a localized version of that string. We now just look for any folder under your %UserHome% with files that match Frontier Developments\Elite Dangerous\Journal.*.log. But if that doesn't work, you can manually enter a path to your journal files. You can use the UI, or set a string value for the registry key HKCU\Software\TickleSoft\Picard\JournalPath.
Now, I know this is probably a little out of spec, but would it be possible to update the following to Inara:
Current Credit Balance
Current System
and maybe even:
Rank and progress
Engineer reputations
Releasing this into the wild has been a bit humbling. I thought we beat it up pretty well, but the unknown unknowns always get you. But I think we're close to done with major bugs and features. After that, I can focus on cool new stuff. Credits, system (and current station, planet, etc) and rank and progress are relatively low-hanging fruit. I'd like to get them all done in the next major version. Engineer rep looks a little more involved but makes sense to prioritize due to the nature of what we're doing here.
I don't seem to be seeing what everyone else sees when Picard runs. All I get is a very brief pop-up when I start it up, showing that it's logging into my Inara account. Then nothing - how do I bring up the interface? I must be missing something...
Try the new release, and if that doesn't work, delete your %UserProfile%\AppData\Local\TickleSoft directory and run Picard again. If it's still no good, let me know and we'll see what we can figure out.
