"All good things must come to an end."
--CMDR Chaucer
So the cows have finally come home, and everyone made it back safely to the barn - even if there was a last-minute rush at the end to be first through the gate.
In the Nines, long-time Buckyballer Raiko got in a couple runs under the wire in the
Baymax for an eighth-place finish, and CMDR Aken B. flung the
Graceful Betty through the slot one last time for a shot at the top, managing fourth place in the final analysis. CMDR Furrycat's
Purple Paw had the winning time on the clock by a fair margin, but he was unable to capitalize on the commodity board. Maybe it was destiny, maybe it was fate, but CMDR Cookiehole's
Big Haul Like That ended the week on the tip-top of the Type-9 class and the Heavy Metal leaderboard. Bravo, CMDR Cookiehole!
But CMDR Aken B. wasn't done for the day. While he was unable to catch Cookie in the Nines, he poured on the gas in the Sevens, bringing the
Holy Cow in for the win and a solid first-place finish. O7, Aken! That was some mighty fine flying there.
Finally, in the Sixes, we had a trio of last-minute attempts at the title. CMDR Inga Stevenson commissioned the brand new
Santa Vaca, and in spite of a planetary impact, an unexpected repair bill and an one blank cargo manifest managed a 7th place finish in the Sixes. CMDR Polly made a gallant push in the
Volantem Laterem at the end to come in third, and once again CMDR Aken B. swooped in at the end to try and clinch another first-place finish in the
And Yet It Flies.
But try as Aken might, a profit differential of only .38 credits/second kept him from first place. That's a heartbreaker. Aken had the profit, but not the time, with 6K in profit margin but lacking 12 seconds on the clock. CMDR Samwell Drakhyr, the systems of the
Deep Blue Yondercorrupted with a suspicious infestation of Cookiebots managed to fend off all comers the past two days to retain the top slot for the Type-6's. Good try, Aken, and great run CMDR Drakhyr! Congratulations!
These results are preliminary, pending peer review. All race records will be made public, and competitors will have until midnight GST 25 APR 3303 to challenge the findings. In the mean time, let's head on down to the Heat Sink Pub on Treschov Ring, knock back a few drinks, and we'll all try and figure out what this means!
Here's the o-fficial race spreadsheet, complete with links to everyone's races. If anyone has any questions, speak before End of Day Monday, and forever hold your peace. And if you find I've made a mistake, well, you can just start holding your peace now.
