It feels like someone is doing their job wrong

The complexities and depth in chess are derived DIRECTLY from the rules and limitations on the pieces.

Rules and limitations as opposed to time sinks or modifications to rewards based on for example rank.

One requires skill, the other requires mere time and patience.

Elite Dangerous is not a game that rewards skill, it only rewards time.

And that has been where Bethesda has really nailed it...create the framework, parts and tools, and allow the players to create the game they want

Ehh. I don't think Bethesda anticipated the modding scene - they just left the tools available, and over time the community did the rest. The way they later tried to monetize it left a really big stink, especially on nexusmods; it was really bad - to the point they just completely did a 180 and backed off of it altogether. (I mean, it shows they do have a conscience and all that, which is nice.)

They claim iterative design, but I think lots of us would prefer one update a year if it was fully fleshed out and bug free, for the most part at least, to having a few less polished features more often. FDEV, please, give the players, thee consumers, what they want too...
EDIT I can't spell...

The idea of a bug-free update is like space unicorns. They don't exist. A single yearly update would simply mean dealing with a year's worth of bugs.

Personally, I waited around 6 months, IIRC, for this latest update *just* for a bugfix so I could play around planets again. I'd really rather that not become the norm from here on out.

Ok, if you don't understand it either it looks like my english just sucks... :)
I'll try again:

I was just teasing! If you take offense at being called a chess casual, I shall refrain. :p

Having read the the last few pages I have decided on a name for my ship, not that they will ever read it: "Hello, Bitter old men".

Oh, is this the wrong thread?

I neither flamed, trolled, harrassed or badgered. Maybe someone needs to read the forum rules around here

In reply to my post:

Well, what would you personally say to what I mentioned (I think, I'm starting to blur lengthy thread replies here) about changing the cap on supercruise accel/deceleration rates?

I rather liked the idea. I've suggested similar things in the past, for example a "galactic hyperdrive" as an expensive, one-use item to give you a massive jump range (1000s of light years). Actually, I'm going to re-post my idea again.

The real answer to all of this is at least for me there is no real interaction with anything at all. Everything is look but don't touch. You literally can do nothing with anyone or any npc. Aside from winging you have 0 meaningful interaction with other players and maybe an occasional gank. It's all player made up... might as well play a text based game honestly. The game is screaming and begging for player 2 player interaction and meaningful universe discoveries and interaction

I think the best example of this are the new "installations", the medical, military, agricultural, etc. They look very nice but I was shocked that I couldn't even dock to them. What's the purpose?

Maybe you'll find out in a future update?

That is the problem other space games knocking on the door with launch content promised already more than what is currently offered from elite. What happens then if everyone jumps ship And moves on. It already feels quite lonely as is. It's been a few years now while the updates have been nice, nothing really seems to change. I still feel like im playing the base game I bought a few years back. Still doing the same mundane things. Still grinding for credits that I can't spend on anything other than ships. It's like they added engineers only to make people with horizons op in a way yo entice people to buy horizons. In space the possibilI ties are endless yet in elite they are finite.

People are saying this since 2 years. The game isn't dead yet. They will not work faster because you are saying the game will die. It's not even an argument. ;)

It's a possibility for sure. Ignoring it doesn't make it any less of an issue. And on the other hand it may not be an issue at all. But if you sit back and look at what you are currently doing in game 2 years later can you truthfully say it's anything different from 2 years ago?

Lots of stuff is different from 2 years ago. But sadly not the stuff I am interested in.

For me, my interest is combat/exploration these 2 main features of elite is almost identical to me after 2 years of development. Other than that I would love to buy anything other than ships/modules you know enjoy the millions I have earned.

ok to say exploration is identical we can agree with..but for combat i wouldnt say that....most of the changes if not all is for pew pew....

I come back and check from time to time on the status of this game, naively hoping that FD fixed it. But nope. No luck. I agree with all OP posts, although I stopped playing before the last update. I was so looking forward to this update. But it looks like it just added useless crap and made matter worse.

I think it's time to forget about ED and move on. Too bad really. The game has so much good going on for it. But the devs attitude suck horribly. I wish someone bought the game and fired everyone before fixing the game.

Steam reviews are getting progressively more negative too.

Wake up FD, you're ruining a great game.

This is the least reasonable response I've yet seen on the forum. Well done. Don't trip on the doorstep when you leave again....
