So now that it's over, my thoughts...
I wanted to help the moment this crazy plan was announced, but what can a simple explorer do? So i joined the PAC-discord and build myself a ship. The whole idea of "no guns" and "pull all with guns" was not appealing, but i hoped i could do something so i went along. The planning for this must have been crazy, so kudos for that. But then i heard about known gankers to "help" and all alarms went off. But what can a simple explorer do?
I was stationed in the bubble and tried to make a wing out of the few people in the instance. I finally managed to get 2 in the fleet that were able to join. We were scouting, boring stuff, but i managed to get myself into Raans path pretty good to even see him for a few seconds. With Salome... Once i relized she was avoiding the system the whole fleet was concentrating at, i tried to get ahead of her. Even managed to catch up! But no Salome... Only friendly or completely unrelated CMDRs to be seen. I then tried to get ahead of her to scout, but it was to late. I saw she was stuck in that system, that will probably get a tourist-beacon soon. And when rumors about what happened came through, i imidiately ordered my wing into Teorge. I knew what is out there from before. No need for them to get shot by gankers while scanning, so give them a heads up.
What did i learn? Hopefully the same thing as Frontier today: This game is not ready for stuff like that. The instancing seems so random.
About the whole "SDC to the rescue" thing? I voiced my concerns many pages here ago. Short version: There are people who don't care about this game. It's a tool for them. Nothing more. Trust them as far as you can throw them.
Am i sad? Not really. Yes, she is gone and i think thats a sad thing for the story overall. But 3 made it and one would have been enough i guess. Story will move on and i can now concentrate on what these messages are about.
