THE FORMIDINE RIFT MYSTERY (Part 4)

Some will dispute it, but you can't beat a good story. And if you think about it, it's a good story. About hybris, bad advice and a downfall and a sacrifice for a higher good.

People love that stuff.

Oh don't get me wrong, I had little love for Salomé, though would have liked to hear her story before her demise. Regardless, I had made it clear I trust no one form the start, and it seems Salomé and co. would have been wise to do the same...

How difficult is it for you to understand that three out of the four VIPs who got their ends points is a win for us? Salomé died, it's sad, it sucks. But we still won. The amount of egomaniacal pettiness of you people is astounding. Not for one second did CoR trust SDC and yet here people are, screaming and claiming that CoR let HP do it and actually winged up with CoR.

You people were not there. You. were. not. there. End of.

ANYONE could have friended Salomé and Drew wanted it that way. HP merely followed Salomé on the galmap and once he caught up, it was over. Instancing was in his favour, defenders kept getting thrown out our were stuck in the drop-out tunnel.

CoR and LL did what we could with the time and resources we had. PAC was set up as a request from Drew to get as many involved as possible, once CoR had set it up, it was to their own devices so we could focus on our OWN thing. Get your damn facts straight instead of jumping on the first piece of information and riding it to the sunset like a bucking bronco.

Disgusting behaviour...

I´ve bought the game 1 month ago. I had a lot of laughs with my close mates playing In private group.
Then, I don´t know why I got involved to this rol of Salome books story. I want her alive, but all this crap happening around her, like we can´t go defend her with weapons (clearly a good strategy to kill her @PAC) got me right to, - i´ve been 3 hours looking for systems, trying to help her, and she got pawned but their own illuminaties.
You Frontier devs sucks at this point, you really deserve Salome to be killed. And i´m a player with 2 weeks history lore involved. Good game Frontier. I´ll troll all your next events cause you had me 3 hours doing . GlHf commanders. I know who is my enemy. From up to the ground. Frontier devs. Pac. SCwhatever. Raxxla

Ahhh. CoR's PR division has shown up :D

It's too easy.

Can we please open another Thread now that we've started a new chapter of the story?

Edit:
And about the Discord Denfense Fleet. The 3 protagonists that survived didn't make it due to your actions, but rather despite it. Salomé's death is on you.

The facts are getting clearer, don't worry, Zenith clarified a lot earlier in this thread.

One bit I'm not clear on... there's a rumour going about that HP convinced your wing to slow down to let him catch up. Is that part true?

I think we should wait a bit until we know more.

If the alien invasion starts and it turns out to be really, really bad than we might need a thread "Where the Dynasty conspirators right?", if nothing happens we need a "Who are the Dynasty conspirators" thread.

"Keep your friends close and your enemies closer."

CoR (and PAC) are getting a lot of criticism for letting Harry and his friends join the allied forces to protect Salomé. This is unreasonable. While any fool could have seen Harry's treachery coming a mile a way ... not having welcomed him into the allied forces would have had the same result. Harry was going to show up gunning for Salomé no matter what.

At least by having Harry in their own Friends list it helped level the playing field. Tracking Salomé was incredibly easy. So many of us still had her in our friends lists. And even if she wasn't ... her every move was being live-streamed via several channels. The only way to track Harry would have been to welcome him in with a smile.

The Earth Defense Fleet took part as best as we could in the event. As far as I'm aware though we never got into the same instance with any of the VIPs. A few of us got interdicted by some of Raan's henchmen ... but as far as I'm aware nobody got shot at. From my point-of-view it was an incredibly PvP-free PvP event. I got interdicted at the very end by someone in a Vulture ... though I suspect they were just bored. In any case, we both fled in opposite directions from the interdiction.

Salomé is dead.

Drew was prepared for this eventuality so, in the end, the story goes on. Time to stop pointing fingers and laying blame. One of the lessons we should have learned as children is that, when we play a game, we don't always win. How we take defeat is a better show of our character then how we celebrate our victories.

To you all: Keep flying.

So happy she is dead cause who in the world would do the bigger event in EDF in Sol with restriction in SOl. Just for this event. Awesome Elitedevs

I wasn't aware there was anything to win and that no matter what, the event would shape how things turned out. That's how good roleplay and stories go afterall. If World of Darkness taught me anything, it's that any character is expendable to make for a better story. Loss and sacrifice have a huge impact on just how powerful a story really is. Tragedy 101.

SDC claimed the bounty Patreus placed on Kahina Loren, while flying under Patreus' flag no less. They roleplayed it. Props to them. Beyond that is pure speculation on anyone elses part unless they claim otherwise. Which to be honest, they don't really have to. They've become permanent legends within the lore of Elite Dangerous. Already rumors and myths are starting to flourish.

For my part I was hoping she'd succeed. Stuff happens. You just pick yourself up and keep going when things don't work out.

Just read a post by Yuri on discord that PAC have listed all COR pilots as Kill on Sight.

I think that shows PAC's true position. They were always a fifth column and that is why they aided SDC.
