THE FORMIDINE RIFT MYSTERY (Part 4)

Not talking about that. I am talking about the expectation that has set the precedence.

Why be involved in anything in this game because you know someone steal the spotlight for notoriety's sake? The futility of this effort was pre determined. Then when the inevitable happens, you are both validated and bored.

If something negative can happen in this game it will happen. Period. If there is supposed to be an action you can take to ensure a positive outcome, you can expect it to fail. Preparation, previous knowledge, and experience mean nothing.

I dont care that Solome died. What I do care about is the fact that this is some sort of celebrated act. An act that will cement this response to anything that happens in the future. So if you know that everything you attempt will fail, then why try? Its not a defeatist attitude if its true. In ED the bad guy always wins and I find that boring.

Actually on this I can pretty much agree.

Well, three others still made it, so it is not entirely negative.

But look an the players' side. On one hand the organised PAC gankers group harassed me to no end, people on my friends list (since Distant Worlds I guess) interdicted me and 'ordered' me to move away. Yet a couple of systems away I was in the same instance with Raan and random other CMDRs yet nobody got hurt, only bounty hunter NPCs.

Anyway: is there a summary with the content of all listening posts and what happens next? Were the alien interdictions real?

Thats the weird part. We all know that Raan and Yuri lived, yet we were told nothing. I find it hard to believe we found the answer for the CG not 2 hours before it started. Yes I think those listening posts mean something, but I dont think it was what Salome was going to tell us.

Dont like that the 2 that lived havent spoken up about anything.

I'm assuming they'll leak through Galnet. But, is anyone keeping an eye on them in game?

Salomé's message was not delivered due to the outcome of the event. Players changed the story once again.

Cheers,

Drew.

I assume that's a reference to the earlier discovery of the listening posts, but I've leaned it pays to read your posts through a *cough* prism.

Curse you, Wagar. :)

Hi, I find this response a little hard to understand in tone if not its factual accuracy in respect to the event. The scene set was that multiple pilots would be the possible target's to protect or kill?

Your statement appears to imply that with the death of salome, no further info or actions will occur, seeming to make the involvement of the other pilots irrelevant or inconsequential?

Dude, among his languages, Drew is fluent in Vorlon. Remember that. ;)

I missed out on taking part by about ten minutes due to a five hour drive back from a family event. Just got back in time to receive a message from a friend that Salomé had been assassinated. Gutted our favourite character didn't survive, gunned down by one of the infamous 'white list' and a notorious in-game criminal (hope lessons have been learned there!), and also mega-miffed to have missed out on the event.

Now sounds like I can't even take some solace that it was even a pyrrhic victory!

Hope it isn't the last such community event though, thanks Drew and FDev for organising it! (sorry, thanks also to CoR and the PAC folks who helped with organising the community).

How difficult is it for you to understand that three out of the four VIPs who got their ends points is a win for us? Salomé died, it's sad, it sucks. But we still won. The amount of egomaniacal pettiness of you people is astounding. Not for one second did CoR trust SDC and yet here people are, screaming and claiming that CoR let HP do it and actually winged up with CoR.

You people were not there. You. were. not. there. End of.

ANYONE could have friended Salomé and Drew wanted it that way. HP merely followed Salomé on the galmap and once he caught up, it was over. Instancing was in his favour, defenders kept getting thrown out our were stuck in the drop-out tunnel.

CoR and LL did what we could with the time and resources we had. PAC was set up as a request from Drew to get as many involved as possible, once CoR had set it up, it was to their own devices so we could focus on our OWN thing. Get your damn facts straight instead of jumping on the first piece of information and riding it to the sunset like a bucking bronco.

Disgusting behaviour...

I can confirm that. I was there, trying to interdict the witch and it was a nightmare of instancing issues and CTD"s.

Congrats, CoR, the message was delivered.

You fanatic cultists won. :)

It is likely, that Salome, as the primary VIP, had an additional message to share with us. One that is now lost forever to the void.

The final message from Raan was:
From:CMDR RAAN CORSEN, Msg:Ok commanders, I have a piece of information with me... but It doesnt makes any sense..., From:CMDR From:CMDR RAAN CORSEN, Msg:I need CMDR Salomé,

So we will get the info, probably will need to decrypt it, but we have good people for that :)

So ... three hours trying to protect Raan Corsen (when I should have been sleeping) was all for nothing?

I don't know about anyone else but EDF still had a lot of fun ... though organizing something like this without proper in-game tools really made things difficult from a fleet POV.
