Legs are boring. We can add them but it will be boring.

It's good that not everyone thinks so. Soon we will be able to appreciate it in ROKH + Adr1ft.

I hope after this, the FDevs and Mr. Braben will change their minds.

Legs are boring coz...You think they are boring.. Ok im sold!

See if you can spot the common denominator...the one thing most of the Devs actually DO want....It seems the person who least wants Legs are Braben himself, so.

I can't believe the SpaceLegs debate is a breath of fresh air...

That being said, I'd love the ability to walk around my ship, and maybe a few station areas. It doesn't need to be much more than that to be worthwhile.

Is that your legs are boring. I found adrift superb in VR. But I have said this a number of times. Look at hellion for what eva and first person perspective gameplay can give you. Can it be boring, sure. Can it be superb and interesting again sure. All depends on the implementation of it.

Legs are awsome, you can walk with them and jump and they have feet on the end with toes, wiggly toes you can...eh wiggle

''legs are boring''

ok let's talk about it...

Legs in itself can be very boring, if you can't use them to walk.

And once you can use them to walk, it depends on where they can get you.
EVE Online has among the nicest looking avatars in any game I've ever seen. But their legs only take you into your private hangar suite and you cannot meet with anyone else.

There should be some meaningful content to explore on those legs. Social hubs like bars, etc, would be a nice start. Caves on planets. The outside of our ships for repairs. Hangars... etc... And it would also be refreshing if it wasn't FPS pew pew coming first.

exactly

but it could be added step by step, module by module... with time.

first the internals of your ship, then the hangar, then the bar ... slowly increasing the size of the 'walkable' place you are in.
but i wouldn't be unsadisfied if the work will stop the internal of the ships first.

Everything but the meeting people part. We can already meet people. The ability to stand in front of them wouldn't make it any more meaningful, nor would pretending to drink with them at a virtual bar. In fact, I'd say that calling you on Skype and taking shots with you would be more meaningful. We'd probably have more fun playing the game too.

For you perhaps. I like roleplay and a lot of my friends are roleplayers. I also create Machinima movies, so... ;)

Yeah, focusing on leg development now would be a huge waste of resources. The game as it is just doesn't support it. They first need to expand on their activity development, otherwise it will be like multicrew: Something that technically exists but is virtually unusuable.

The ability to walk around a ship would be useless right now. If they were sold on it because someone said they really want just that, it would take so much away from what they could otherwise be doing with missions, crime and punishment, the flight model, engineering, and ship balance. You know, stuff that actually makes the game more of a game instead of a heaping pile of functions that have zero interacting relationships with each other. Engineers has nothing to do with powerplay, powerplay has nothing to do with missions, missions have nothing to do with wings, wings have nothing to do with multicrew, multicrew has nothing to do with progression, or anything really. None of these features connect to each other in any way and legs will be just another thing all on it's own.

I remember that same discussion in EVE years ago and the players were pretty divided on how important or unimportant space legs are.
Even the tone of the discussion is the same, I could just hop over there and copy paste.

As said, I think meaningful content should be attached to them legs. And personally I think the ability to meet 'in person' in a game is cool.
Still, if it was the only thing you could do, I'd not prioritize it.
