General / Off-Topic Something serious at Buckingham Palace ?

The staff of Buckingham Palace was summoned in the middle of the night for a very unusual emergency meeting. The right arm of the queen (her private secretary Chrisdtopher Geidt) and Lord Chambellan will address them on Thursday morning

The Kings and Queens of the world should retire, they are nothing but a cost for the countries they "rule". Keep the castles as museums and be done with it.
No one is born to be a ruler of other people, it's [REDACTED]

The Kings and Queens of the world does a marvelous job. It is a burden and that office does not get paid enough. We need to support our Royalty to the death and beyond. All the good they have done to our world, by keeping the lefties and liberals tethered and under control, is just an amazing feat and should be commended and cherished all over the world.

Build new Castles and palaces so that we can experience its beauty and splendor. It also gives the poor hope that someday, they too can be princes and princesses. Because what would the world become, if everyone was just a grey dull heap of socialistic manodepressive maniacs?

I heard that when His Highness heard about May calling yet another election; the Teddy hit the corner and he had a quit rage. Said something about not going to another opening of parliament.

I don't mind the royal family.

It's the government that annoys me. Lol

I could rule this country. I have serval good ideas to fix most of the major issues*.

Only one involves a bit of genocide... :D
It's not that frowned upon is it?

This has been my feeling for quite some time however I've discussed some things recently and have heard some solid arguments on how royalty helps to keep populism in check. Better that the sheeple adore a powerless figurehead than a dangerous demagogue. Interesting thoughts...

There's a vicious rumour (which I'm starting) that Prince Philip is an example of the new state retirement age.
Soon, another 5 year of Tory rule and we will have no unemployed, just work houses and pensions only paid out after you are dead; to the tax man.

Edit:- If you think I am kidding. Look up who increased inheritance tax at the end of WW1.

Who's going to take over his role as Royal Racist? A few years ago, my money would have been on Prince Harry, but he seems to have gone a bit quiet.

The bile is strong in this one.

Research suggests it was a coalition government led by the Liberal Lloyd George.
