Don't forget about CQCC/Arena. It should be available to PS4 players. And you shouldn't have any hassles getting a game started with all the new players to play with

This is how I picture my first few minutes of playing ED on PS4 :)

Moral of the story is there is going to be a lot of kids that have no idea what Elite Dangerous is about. And will treat this as a free for all fighter pilot arcade game.

It's so easily done - I've been playing on Xbox one for ages, and occasionally, i still accidentally boost in the station when going to lower my gear, and trying to do it quickly.

All i'll say is, thank god for shields.

I did it the other day, right into the side of Generation Ship ATLAS - i was looking at the comms panel and hit boost thinking i could exit the menu, next thing i know i'm bouncing off the ATLAS and my shields are down, hull at 78%

I got sucked into doing a smuggling mission in a python lol (rank mission) anyways I took a long run up and went full speed at the slot boosting and boosted through it, I then went for landing gear to slow down and yup hit boost again! :D

Lightly nudged the back wall and survived ;) we all still do it lol! :)

The Automatic Docking Computer is a great temporary tool that can show the CMDR where and how high to line up going through the mail-slot. Temporarily fit the ADC and allow it to fly your ship through the slot a few times so you can get a feel for where you should be lining up. Then, remove the automatic docking computer! The ADC is a crutch that some people begin to lean on a little too hard and then complain when the ADC does not act like an autopilot. As an autopilot, the ADC makes a great docking computer! Also, it takes up space that could be occupied by a much more useful module.

The ADC is especially useful when transitioning from the smaller to larger ships, especially moving into the Anaconda, a ship whose topside bridge placement presents a docking challenge to many CMDRs. If you do not want to incur your first multi-million credit Rebuy within hours of purchasing your first Anaconda, fit the ADC and note where and how high the ADC flies your Annie through the mail-slot.

Docking is like tying shoelaces, quick and easy as a breath if you know how, extremely difficult moving toward impossible if you do not. In a few weeks you will be docking without even thinking about it, your hands automatically working the controls . . . o7

My HOTAS has a "mode" switch that basically turns the HOTAS into 3 HOTAS. I bound mode 1, then bound mode 2 exactly the same but with no "Boost" control bound. Approach a station, I could move the (rotary 3-position) switch to mode 2, no more boost to worry about! I don't use it anymore, guess I "gut gud". o7

It's not the kids who think they are F16 fighter jet pilots you need to worry about. It's us old middle-age folk who, having played F16 flight sims for longer than these kids been alive, you need to worry about. I'm coming for YOU.

I'm just teasing, don't worry. Unless you're that F16 year old kid, then you better think twice before pulling the trigger ;)

Too right, i'm tempted to use my previous knowledge to boost up to a fighter ship quickly and then target anyone with a wanted tag cos they're obviously a griefer.

The main reason I'm getting elite on ps4 is so I can use a HOTAS yet I'm already thinking of using the controller for a few weeks first lol! o7

Ditto! I've been using a DS since PS3 days, and I've gotten pretty good with the controller.

i am just going to get a cheap ship and call it target practice and see how many griefer's takes the bait lol
