Second alien encounter, they're back

you do realise that if they turn hostile we are all screwed, the emp effect alone will disable all ships or srv's around it then its like shooting newbies in the mail slot

Only if you let them get too close. Keep your distance, equip long-range engineered weaponry. My APAs have been modded to have a range of almost 7 km, for example.

Keeping watch atm! ;)

Sorry if this is a stupid question but are these Aliens like a special event? Or are they there always there just lurking?

It's something fdev are slowly slooooooowly building upto! It's not really gonna develop until 2.4 but it's speeding up :)

Sorry, a previous life sets in.

Going Rambo is a state of mind..... Mac in Predator went out Rambo style... I believe it fits. :)

i concede that point, rambo is technically the older film. still not a patch on aliens, just love the sound of the pulse rifles mixed with the alien screams, classic piece of sci fi sound effects

Just a thought; It's possible, the "Aliens" (NOTE: in so much as Earth is off limits to the throng of players, the majority of them (us) are by defination, alien's) objective was to liberate the cat which are held in high regards and you were just meerly an obstical in their path. So they may have been justified by their code of ethics of "GOD and Country". One shouldn't jump to conclusions, about the "Aliens" without knowing the back story.

Hello CMDR's

On a different note, can PS4 Boxes handle "HCS VoicePacks" or "VoiceAttack", as I was considering a purchase and a new copy of Elite?

Be well.

No, but PS4 can handle games with voice commands, Tomb Raider for example. The question is if the developer needs to provide their own voice recognition code, which I suspect is the case. Therefore it seems unlikely like ED will support voice commands at launch.

hope it does, just downloaded the ps4 app so i can use second screen mode, having voice command would be cool wouldn't need as many button combinations

Rumors has it we are getting hailed by some sort of pirate jelly fish? Or is it just rumors? I bet it is still just a scripted mechanical puppet yet again.

Well, I guess I will stay with the PC then. More diversity.

Thanks.

I never understood why so many PC ED gamers are coming over to PS4. Unless there's a large contingent of ED players running marginal PC hardware... And if that's the case, why not XBox, which has had ED for well over a year now?

I have PC's and a PS4.

My PC would implode on starting up ED.

I have PCs, too, but I don't even try to make ED to run on them. There are people who are already serious ED players are coming over to the PS4, and that I don't get.

In my case the PS4 has two things going for it; first is HOTAS support, second is the 43" 4k tv it's been hooked up to recently. (my monitor is 'only' a full hd 27")

...and for some strange reason I felt like starting a new commander :)
