For FDEV - Frontier account question

It might be worth doing as I've found account creation tends to be the first thing to either go down or take longer if an online game encounters launch day probs!

I've finally figured out my password lol as I set mine up almost two years ago

You are just trolling me now arnt you Bill? :D If you create a Frontier account now you can link it to your PSN account at launch. You won't need or have two Frontier accounts as long as you link your PSN ID to your Frontier login. You cannot do this until launch.

Ok, one can either link an existing account and or start a new one via the install process of ED, right? So there's no need, to worry about setting one up prior to launch, if one can do it via launch day install.

PS: I don't know what trolling is.

Yes. Having a existing one may save a few precious seconds on first login.

It gives you more green pips beside your rating (above your avatar). I tend to take people more seriously if they have more pips, because it's a measurement of how much the community likes what you have to say.

hey that is discrimination against those of us who have a valid point, but only have a couple of pips or in my case 1 pip ;)

Be of good cheer my friend, as I should have written "I tend to take people I don't know more seriously if they have more pips..."

ps - welcome back :D

Just to confirm this is correct. You can either:
- Link your PSN account to an existing Frontier account (will not affect saves on other platforms, these remain completely separate)
- Create a new Frontier account using the same email address as your PSN account when booting the game for the first time
or
- Create a new Frontier account using a different email address on our website, then link it to your PSN account when booting the game for the first time

Thank you for clearing this up for us, it's nice to know there's a choice. :)

Correct, One does't choose their cmdr's name at the Frontier's site, it's done automatically when ones play station makes the connection and utilizes ones PSN ID. Apparently one can utilize the PSN sub account feature to establish a different cmdr's name vs closing and reopening a new PSN account which looses all ones digital games in the process. The only other way is to open a new 2nd account and utilize the share feature PSN offers. With the ever increasing number of PSN accounts, future cmdr names will consits of jiberish letters and numbers such as "7_of_9" or the lileness of.

Will ED handle this for us (simple click of option box), or does it just send us to Frontier's website?

Also, do the tutorials need a Frontier account? IF the servers are "clogged" on launch day (it happens to the biggest game companies), I would be happy playing the tutorials until conditions improve.

Billl, it cracks me up that you're telling an official Frontier spokesman that he's "correct", LOL. Thank for that vote of confidence ;)

If you pre-order the game you can download a couple of days in advance, although it will stay locked until release day. Shame they couldn't open up the tutorials only during this time,,,, just an idea.

how do you know he is a he, he might be a she and she could be wearing a skirt. so don't cast assumptions to soon there young bill ;) lol

I'm an old dog, it's my understanding there are only two sexes. Everything else are variations of them. Someone, somewhere I read, stated "He" in their retort about him. So, it's guess based on 68 years of experience of observations, I used the correct terminology. Then again, I am an old dog!

it is fine bill, i have met a few 100% straight people who know more about transgender people than i did. i just see life as one big lesson, where if you are lucky you will learn something new everyday

Bill, to keep you out of trouble in the future, I'm a "he", I'm married to a "she", I wear pants (sometimes shorts), and I've never paid much attention to how I put them on. Back during my military service, I'm pretty sure I put my pants on both legs instantly - at least when Battle Stations was the alarm waking me up.

ps - Everyone wears pants in ED. You know, the flight suit? (In case I'm being too subtle, that's my vain attempt to bring us back on topic.)
