The GCF have joined Dr Scarlett Ashcrofts fight against Wreaken constructions, I think she is hoping to force Wreaken into unlocking the Col70 sector. I wonder if it will have any effect. I know GCF are calling on any interested peoples or parties to get involved.

I dont see how killing NPCs will open Col70 but ok.

You seem to think it will unlock due to an in game reason. The approach here seems to be making it unlock due to player interaction with FDev.
Thanks for looking - I think that's the really old map (from when xDeath found the ruins. I found my (printed out!) 2.2 map which is slightly different, but that also doesn't match the current layouts (never mind positions on Alpha / Gamma sites). Does anyone know whether items are at consistent locations on all sites now? It seemed to me that where obelisk clusters are missing then any 'nearby' ancient items were also gone - which might explain why I couldn't find an Orb at all at the first site I checked.
I suppose this doesn't really matter as most people just keep the items they need in their ship - it's only if you're 'sniping' single combos (like Tech 6) that you might want specific items.

I noticed that as well, it also appears during hyperdiction scans. It could also be related to some of the symbology from the UP noise. |-- --| etc, could also be morse, probably beyond my skillset but im sure i can look up morse symbols and put the dots and dashes together
I have an initial though of what it means though.

FYI: FD planning to pay out on the ruins

One CMDR has contacted FD about the ruins not paying out the 100M bonus due to a bug and "Support wrote to me this morning to say affected commanders will receive their missing credits (the 100m bonus) once it has been decided on the best way to do this; either individually or via automatic script. I was told rest assured I will receive my credits."
Never got to the 100 myself, but I guess some of the CMDRs who were trying to complete without using 'open bleed' might be in luck.

is anyone able to get a few high res close up screenshots of the "lens flare" from both the hyperdiction and the barnacle event?

is it not the Pilots Federation that has ultimate control over what systems are locked?
pretty sure they run the software on your FSD that prevents you from jumping to certain systems?
Yeah (though surely the locking is via the navcom, not the FSD). Always possible that Wreaken are the 'owners' of the permits for Col 70, similar to Sirius corp being 'owners' of the permits for Sirius, but doesn't seem likely given the sheer size of Col 70.
We should all join up and blockade Shinrarta Dezhra until they give us the permit. Lets get Bovomit while we're at it.
(I'm only half kidding, kind of curious what FDEV would do if 50,000 pilots wtfpwned a Shinrata blockade permit CG in a few hours).
