I wonder if it is basically 2 xbox gamepads made into the shape of the HOTAS X. That would probably work quite well,and I'm surprised no other hardware manufacturer has thought about that. Of course, you'll need the game to support that too; I strongly suspect no other game will be compatible unless they're patched.

A hotas is actually the same as a controller on the inside the are just built different on the outside, internal functions are the same.

So is this THE Thrustmaster exclusive for Elite Dangerous? As in, there's no other "special" HOTAS being released for ED on the other platforms? I'm totally fine if that's the case, I just want to know if there's a "one more thing" to be announced.

I am more excited about this than is entirely healthy. At last an end to tapping "Xbox one HOTAS" into search boxes and sighing. Bongo, as ever you are a legend for tracking down the facts. Hoping its going to be more in the upto £100 bracket than the £300 bracket.....
Alien Invasion (cos, personally, I am really excited about that and think they did it really well), 4k update for Xbox One X launch and this... all we need now is confirmation of Xbox Windows MR support in future and my life in the real world will be over.

Hello hard to tell from that picture although the tf 4 doesn't have any buttons where the xbox and menu button is just infront of the stick.
