I just took the plunge and ordered a PS4 Slim (Uncharted 4 Edition) and pre-ordered Elite on Disc.

I would love to have bought the PS4 Pro, but my budget it tight right now.

And that's also the reason I went with the disc version - with my Best Buy (or Amazon) membership the disc version was only $39.99.

I also picked up the Uncharted Collection for $12 since Uncharted 2 was my favorite PS3 game of all time, and I never did play U1.

Hope to see all you PS4 Commanders in the black!

I keep forgetting about being able to use my PSV with Ed . . . and then squeeing about the feature every time I'm reminded :)

I have the slim also. just make sure you keep airflow around it because it will get "HOT!", i found this out the hard way, as it started dropping out and rebooting because of heat issues, and Uncharted 4 is a great game... but ED will blow it away :)

I have the Slim - no regrets yet! It's the least power hungry and also the smallest (and perhaps quietest) of the threesome.

Welcome to the PS4 family, Uncharted 4 is AMAZING! There is so many great games now at $19.99 on PS4 add in your Best Buy Gamer Club Unlocked discount of 20% more off of that you WIN! I picked up my copy of Elite Dangerous at Best Buy also. I use them over Amazon because new older games get the discount also not the pre-orders that Amazon will do.

I was looking for a purchase thread as I did not want to start a new one.

Amazon does not have a delivery date yet. Most games have a release date delivery, but Elite does not yet. The order there actually says date pending. Asking Amazon support about it resulted in a 1-day delivery free of charge (vs free 2-day with prime).

I looked at it via Best Buy (gamer club discount), but could not pick up from any store in my area.

I bring this up as the disc option *might* not be delivered on release date. We'll see as it gets closer and I decide what to do next.

I was in contact with a "David" at Sold Out UK, a manufacturer for disc-based games (company listed on the Amazon page). A week and a half or so ago he suggested ED was currently being manufactured. He said they would know a date within the next two weeks or so. So that maps out to any day now.

That's a bit disconcerting. All this time I've been thinking, "Surely ED is finished and ready to go, because they had to press the discs and get them out to the stores." But, I'm not going to speculate....
