Since neither has been defined for PS4 players, it still makes little sense to me. Someone in another forum described anti-FDEV to me as lifetime Kickstarter backers getting upset that a "lifetime" of Elite was really just turning into a 10 year plan, and that that 10 year plan is now just periodic narrative updates and QoL fixes. On the PS4 side, I just don't even know what it's about. Maybe just boredom and impatience?
Jupiter67, it might be wise to keep quiet for a bit.
A bit of a history lesson to bring you up to speed with this group.
As a group, we are generally positive about the future of Elite on PS4 and have been living off scraps for a long time now.
Since the launch announcement first came out in December 2017, we have banded together, pooling what little information is available to ascertain what is going on.
We have had
- people pawing over annual reports,
- people keeping an eye of the stock market, looking for Frontier announcements
- people looking at which games conferences Frontier attends throughout the year in an effort to sniff out where and when more detail will surface.
- people who have gone over Frontier's previous launch methods with both PC and Xbox in an attempt to work out how the PS4 game will launch
- a whole host of people tuning in to the live streams dissecting every word Ed uttered in the hope that he would let something slip.
At no time have we been anti anyone. Not once anti-FDev, anti-LGBT, anti-PC or anti-Xbox
Pax-East saw the first footage of PS4 gameplay, albeit brief and only training missions but it did validate to a degree the launch trajectory.
We identified that E3 represented the last games con where Elite could be showcased before launch. When this was mirrored by Frontier confirming that they were going to attend, we all looked to the tune in to the livestreams for the final piece of the reveal, two weeks before launch.
It was this that I believe lead to the forum content of the last few days. It is not salt. Salt is reacting to what we don't like. This was something different. There was nothing to react to.
Two Frontier livestreams and a Sony presentation with absolutely no mention of PS4.
Thankfully, Brett, Lloyd and Ed have come through latterly and acknowledged that they need to do something to communicate with us.
