What was your highest total payout after returning from an exploration trip?

I was in the black about 9 'n' a half months, and after I sold off my data after the trip, I was 850 million dollars richer.

The problem is that many of us did our trips before the massive increase in pay outs. I did over 250,000ly in one trip and made about 130MCr from it. Nowadays that would net me over a billion, so it's going to be very hard to compare amounts.

as traveller stated I think to compare like for like distance travelled vs scanned bodies in one trip would be a better measure because comparing payouts pre 2.3 with post 2.3 is like comparing apples with zebras

also proof could be difficult as you could for example sell a cutter and show your before and after credit balance ;) - profits from exploration on your stat panel would be more reliable.

I'm gonna take a break from wandering into the black for awhile; it was just so time consuming and took months upon months, and hours upon hours. I got more than enough stuff with my name on it, and got plenty of screenshots. I'll probably keep it sort of local, and focus on the the stars and nebulae I've been wanting to visit...maybe just google NASA and find the latest discoveries and fly to them. I'll keep up on what's changing in the next update, and maybe wander back into the black if I see something irresistible.

Yeah, didn't really think of that. My "mostly harmless" combat rank is probably enough proof I didn't sell any massive warships.

124 million for a 207 hour trip from Colonia to Sag A* and back to the bubble.
Full Trip Stats ... https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showt...(Trip-Stats)?p=5507814&viewfull=1#post5507814

Averaged 50,463 cr per system visited or 599,217 cr per hour
Only the last couple of days of that trip were post 2.3 patch

Hard to compare apples to apples without knowing how many hours you actually played during that nine and a half months, how many systems you visited, and how many level 3 scans you did.
For 850 million I'm guessing you played A LOT and Scanned everything you saw in every system you passed through.
Re-post a screenshot of your exploration stats page ...

In the March after release I went to SAG A and scanned most systems on the way including detailed scans if any interesting bodies, On the way back. I just did a 'bong' and moved on RESULT £20,000,000.
For me, the boredom did not justify the pay-out

In one data sale? Not much yet, here. So far I've mostly been zigzagging along the bases between the bubble and Colonia, with each jaunt coming in between 10-40 million. And now that I've left Colonia for the core, I'm not scanning a whole lot. However I've already netted over 300M during the time between leaving the bubble, and leaving Colonia. I may head up to Beagle Point before selling data again, but I'm not trying to get rich, so my scanning is limited to some very extreme cherry-picking. ;)

My yield for Distant Worlds when I reached Colonia on 23 February 3303 was 398,194,486 credits. I have no idea how that translates to the new payout levels. I'd prefer not to think about it too much :D

In the next week or so, I'll be getting back to Colonia after a 6 month trip to Beagle Point and SagA.

50% done pre-2.3, with 20+ ELWs and many TC scans.

So I'll see how I do :)

I have some stats from my three biggest exploration trips. The first two are pre-buff, the third after map data got boosted like billy-o.

1st trip: Anti-clockwise from The Bubble, round the inner arms of the galaxy then a bee-line to Colonia

Ship: AspX, 32ly range
Days:60
Systems visited: 3893
Total distance: 114,975 ly
Data value: 61,107, 285 credits

2nd trip: Colonia to Beagle Point, then down the Western Outer Arm and then straight across back to Colonia

Ship: AspX, 44.5 ly range
Days: 34
Systems visited: 3987
Total Distance: 166,313 ly
Data Value: 42,720,663 credits

Third trip: Colonia to the far Eastern Rim and back

Ship: Orca, 46.5 ly range
Days: 20
Systems visited: 2468
Total distance: 107,581 ly
Data Value: 255,247,986 credits

Yep first 11 month trip was about 75 million before 2.3 over a year ago. This trip I've been gone a month and a half and 3 weeks were not even playing (out of the country) and I've netted 300 million when I made a pit stop at Colonia as I ended up on the other side of it and thought what the hell might as well cash in the firsts before aimlessly wandering.

So who knows how much it'll be in the end when I actually get back to the bubble. Though on this leg (which I have no plan, but heading currently to Mare Desperations), I'm going for distance and not bothering to scan every terriformable planet...

I've only gone on one long exploration voyage before (I'm currently out on my second one). I sold some of the data when I arrived in Colonia, some of the data when I arrived back in the Bubble and I lost some of the data when I lost my ship while flying around in the Bubble looking for useful places to sell my data.

So your guess as to what my "total payout" for the trip was, and what it might have been if I'd survived to sell it all, is as good as mine.

Mine is 955 millions, I think. That was back in 1.3, when we got PowerPlay.
Last I've heard, the highest is something over 2 billions for a trip, that was also before Horizons launched.
There is a thread for those records on here, though, I'm not sure it's being updated any more. With our new high salaries post-2.3, those numbers are set to go way up in the the high billions. :D
(Edit: looks like the thread moved to here...)

I've seen a few cutters which are mostly harmless lol...

pre 2.3:

bubble to Colonia (via Sag A*)

Systems visited: 2632
Distance Travelled: 54,156
Credits: 157,108,707
Highest Payout: 1,632,111
Earth Like Worlds: 22
Water Worlds: 98

Post 2.3:

Bouncing around the bubble:

Systems visited: 506

Distance Travelled: 16,597
Credits: 1,024,075,517
Highest Payout: 11,925,882
Earth Like Worlds: 100+
Water Worlds: 300+

multi-billions are possible, just depends on how much grind you're looking to put into the effort

955 million is super impressive, before the update. I would've self destructed long before I even got close. It seems like a completely different ballgame now. Before the update, a terraformable high metal world gave 15,000-20,000CR. Now, apparently, the terraformable high metal content worlds are about 412,000CR each.
